Wooden Spoon 2025 ?

Given our impressive recruitment and young talent pushing through, I think Wests run of last placed finishes will mercifully end in 2025.

Looking through all the NRL squads however - I’m buggered if I can find a firm spoon favourite.

Thoughts ...

I can see NZ having a bad year, even with Fisher-Harris coming across.

SJ's gone and they've got a lot of players getting to the twilight of their careers in key positions.

Demps you read my mind buddy I was about to create a thread to have predictions for 2025.

So much can happen during the course of the season. If Manly lose Turbo/DCE they're not making the 8. Dogs above Penrith? What is this bloke smoking.

I can’t see a Flanno coached side running last.
I actually thought they looked weak at the start of last season, but ended up just blowing a semi spot
If we’re going to base it on coaching, we’re in trouble. I don’t see much upside with the Dragons. Of course a club like the Raiders or Warriors could surprise. There are always one or two clubs who severely underwhelm. The Dolphins are another club more likely to underperform than over perform.

I must of read both of your minds given I started the thread 🤷‍♂️

I agree, injuries to key personnel always plays a massive part.

Newcastle for me. Terrible halves. Thompson - is he staying or going disruption. Is Ponga going to play or spend more time looking for the perfect milkshake.
Good shout. The only thing that stopped me from naming them was Ponga. He goes down, they are cactus. The greatest example of a one man team in years.

Lol I don’t know who these clowns are, but that list looks wrong all over the shop.
For mine the Warriors Dolphins and Parra will fight it out. Bunnies will do ok with Bennett back and if Latrell feels like playing, anything can happen. Roosters are due for a lean year. Dogs to come second with their pack and halves? Good luck. We should fare a lot better than 14th as well.

Shocking list man

I got Titans way down the list
Last even

I expect Raiders to continue to decline too

I actually think it might be the roosters . All of a sudden that team looks not that impressive . Especially in the spine .
And I know they pumped us , but they weren’t exactly the benchmark team with an all stars roster anyway .
There’s a lot of strike missing , and I think JWH will be an absolutely underrated loss . People are talking about it , but not in the way they probably should be .
