Woods and Fifita stay with Wests Tigers

Fifita, BMM and Dwyer all played like supermen last night carrying the rest of the pack. Woods played well too. It's bizarre to suggest that they'd take a backward step or that we shouldn't sign these "blues in waiting" long term!

I'm not sure this is a good idea, signing these young guys up long term. :exclamation:

I hope they don't decide to take it easy now that their futures are sealed for the next few seasons. I do agree however that they are very good prospects, so lets hope they come out ready to play hard in each and every game 😛ray:

Thankfully your not in charge of recruitment otherwise we would sign noone, retention of our future is vital and a job well done by the club.

Keep supporting the tigers and let manageemnt worry about the rest

Calm down Tiger 05 - my query was purely regarding the 'long term' part- it is possible that when **some** of these guys are signed long term, they could decide to take a bit of a rest, as their future is sealed. But did you read the part of my comment where I said that they are **good prospects** :exclamation: I will certainly take your last comment very seriously and KEEP SUPPORTING THE TEAM :righton:

The flipside of that Tigeress is unless you lock people in, there are other clubs ready to take a gamble and sign them. Also some guys play a lot better without having to worry about their long-term future. Woods and Fifita have shown their present worth and future potential in bucketloads this season. Good props are very hard to come by (look at what's available on the open market) so you need to lock in what you've got if you've got good props.

My personal opinion is that these are excellent moves by our CEO. He rarely puts a foot wrong. Hopefully the days of Ryan Hoffman are well in the past and our top juniors play long careers at the Wests Tigers. I'm one happy camper.

I agree with the "ideal" Yossarian, and I also agree that these guys have done a pretty good job for us till now, and hopefyully this will continue. I have always maintained that we should be standing by our young players, and not having to go outside to buy "elite" players from other clubs. :sign:

in defence of management for losing hoffman, he was paid a motza compared to his standing at the time to go to melbourne, as were a number of other juniors (most notably Falou and Inglis who every club in Australia was after). Wish hoffman was ours tho, good player and great bloke.
Remember hearing a story about Hoffman as a Current Australia school boy, running water for the Metropolitan catholic schools 15's and helping to pick up the jersays, clearly a great kid.

Folau and Inglis were a lot younger and basically their families left the region rather than those guys getting picked up by rival clubs. Sheens made some comments at the time along the lines that losing Hoffman was a big disappointment as he was already well in the WT/Magpies system at the time Melbourne signed him. He probably did get overs but the suggestiona at the time was that the WT didn't do much to keep him.
