Woods V Hargraves

Their forwards looked like they were running downhill

We looked like we were going uphill in gumboots

Nothing changes

Woods for me is almost at a "plodder" status .
Put it this way , if he was a Queenslander I doubt he'd be picked for the Maroons .

yup. spot on

all starts with our pack and we havent had a good one since arguably 2014 before injuries, otherwise 2011.

few small things to fix up besides that like getting pushed in goal, not pushing to pass in the wet, bombing more. but winning the ruck makes everything else start to go your way

They really showed us that we're way off in the agression department.
We have Sue and the rest are cuddly telletubbies.

We need to sign some serious meatheads.
Abraham Papali, Charlie Gubb & priority signing - Ryan James.

This battle is getting embarrassing for Aaron.

Every single time Jarrod makes Woods look 2nd rate.

I wish that Hargreaves was Australian, And a new South Welshman, and a Tiger.
Problem is that Daly would still pick Woods.
I like Woods he seems like a good bloke , but for Gods sake , he needs to get angry and get some aggression in his game.
Hargreaves makes him look like a front row Newby

Woods isn't the top quality player that we make him out to be. It's that simple.

He is a good player. He isn't Fifita who has a lot of holes in his game but he is also isn't Hargraves who wins you games.

I reckon it all comes down to moneyball. Woods isn't much better than Ava for instance. Pay them accordingly to what they give us week in and week out and then it's cool.

Woods is one type of front rower and JWH is another … we need a Hargreaves type to complement Woods - we don't have one

I think we get scared when teams take us on up the middle. Lucky some teams think that little of us they don't try that hard n give us a chance lol

Woods needs a Rocket !
Sure he has a good motor and can play extended minutes , but that's not enough in today's game .
He has zero fear factor and zero mongrel .
He needs a friggin haircut as well , he looks like an old bikie mole !

Finally! I seriously didnt think I'd read this whole thread before someone pointed this out. Well done Winipeg.

Woods does his job and that is to eat meters. He does it every week no matter the opposition. His partner needs to be the aggressive foil. No coach he has played first grade under has sorted this out.

So true.
That's our line speed. We don't move up, I'd swear blind were coached to wait for them to come to us.
Where as they were on top of us as soon as DH passed the ball.
Just dumb coaching.

Woods, Galloway and Sue starting with Gavet and Taupau coming off the bench… those were the days. I remember that pack steamrolling Souths, Manly and a couple of other rated packs. I thought it was going to be the start of something until that horror run with injuries that lead to Potter being sacked.

yeah man, loved those days… good times for the first half of the season.

JWH loves playing the Tigers, no one in our pack is capable of putting him firmly on his backside, the only player we had who could do it had his career cut short. Woods just isn't an aggressive player, he's pretty smart and chews the metres up but defensively he is not strong which is his only real downfall IMO. If Woods could flatten blokes he'd be the best front rower in the comp.

He doesnt even try Willow. Hargraves and Evans ran straight over him and it did nothing to change his lacklustre mood. He's in Origin cruise mode.

Over the next 18 months, if Felise, Tatola and Alioai come on i would let Woods go.
