World of Tech

Where I work is the leading workplace digitization company on the the planet and they're as bewildered about AI as everyone else. Even with a partnership with Nvidia. I can tell you now some of the most brilliant software engineers you're likely to meet are still grappling with this stuff as much as everyone else.

AI is a parlor trick based around lots of stored data, incredible CPU/GPU processing and clever use of probability. It's an extraordinary product but there are so many lies about what it's really capable of doing, and its still really unclear where its real usefulness really lies. Mixed with machine learning its the most disruptive technical change since the internet. Honestly, if it makes the world 30% more productive, we should just move to a global 4 day working week. Everyone can watch more footy and shut up then.

It's not Ai that scares me but the idea that everyone's prompts and the answers are being read by silicon valley fektards. That's the real power of the product. Its even more dangerous than the holman barnes group

I am waiting for AI in the Bunker no more favourable decisions to the team of the month just unbiased decisions in real time

The footballs in this world cup which were designed by Adidas use a new Connected Ball technology.

Do we need this in our game to negate the mistakes the bunker makes - forward passes, knock ons, strips and off sides?
Interesting tech, they seem to be relying on cameras connected to the ball. Our major use case would be forward passes and knock ons, strips and offsides could be a bit trickier as nobody can clearly explain when a defensive line can move forward or how can you tell when the hand is off a player in a strip. You would think forward passes and knock ons should be fairly easy to nail down as its simply direction of travel within the first 2 metres when it leaves the hands, you could have sensors connected to the ball at each end of the field and a simple calc based on ball movement. GPS is not accurate enough even on a clear day let alone a cloudy one.
