yeah stryker, in no way mate was i saying the Indian people are dirty, i should have written "chaos, people, lack of general hygiene, rubbish collection and general cleaning" but that would have required me to say, "india summed up in 11 words" and that just doesn't sound right?
The fact of the matter is ALL the above posts are correct. Yes the Western countries of the world are placing the highest stress on the planet…..currently. But as China continues to grow its middle and upper class it will not be long before that statistic swings massively in Chinas favour. I actually think it could be starting to tilt that way now. Ill give an example. I remember about 20-25 years ago when i was a little tacker everything was "made in Taiwan" pretty soon Taiwan became too costly to outsource to as the general living standards there increased. Fast forward to the 90's and the 00's and for the last 20 years EVERYTHING has been "made in China", now China is starting to outsource to other countries such as India and i am 100% sure in the near future youll see more and more products poping up with a "made in India" tag on it and less from China. With more then 1.5-2bill people there is a shortage of workers to work in many factories now here in China because the people are becoming more educated, informed and wise to the fact that better jobs do exist and will not work for a bowl of rice a day anymore. The cost of living in China has increased massively in the past 2 years alone and will have a run off effect into the manufacturing industry over the next few years.
There is no doubt China's population is a major concern for the world in the next 50-100 years. Not so much now, but in those years to come as the Chinese people strive harder and harder to live the lifestyle of the material West. I only have to look around at the thousands upon thousands of motor vehicles i see everyday or the extraordinary amount of food packaging thrown all over the streets everyday only for it be cleaned over night just for it all to appear again the next day or the huge amount of power consumption from construction or existing apartments/shopping malls that is just so ongoing in the country it is mind blowing not for people to realise China is well and truely on the way to overtaking all of the West in terms of resource consumption and planet destruction in the next couple of decades.
Now, how do you resolve the problem? Birth control on a national level in the form of a "one child policy" sounds like a great idea, but this has numerous effects (too many to mention here, but i'll touch on a few) 1) It should be every damn humans right to procreate!!
2) Health Issues of terminating a pregnancy at up to 8 months along
3) Social Issues - Aborting females as they are seen as 'less' value to the family unit thus creating an imbalance in the Male-Female ratio. Creating a Rapidly Increasing Aging Population
4) Psycological Problems - Little Emperor Syndrome
5) Internal rumblings amongst the populace - In china there is a thing called 'guanxi' In the west we say "greasing someones palm?" Guanxi is a way of life in China. If you have money, you then have friends, you then have favours...... so this means if you are rich enough you can have as many children as you want. So the one child policy isnt as effective as it could be as poor people just go under ground and rich people just do it out in the open with their big pockets.

The biggest problem is that China's pop. is so vast that even as they become more wealthier and naturally want to have less children to pursue education, careers and lifestyle it wont have a real affect for many many generations to come. Eventually if the world hasn't withered away of course China's population will decline...................................but then what do the gods and powers that be have to say about India by this time??
I firmly believe we are living in the greatest era of mankinds duration. The world in 100-150 years time is somewhere i do not want to be.
