Thought I'd share…A MESSAGE TO WESTS TIGERS

I find it odd sitting here and writing about a Wests Tigers spat that doesn’t revolve around what percentage of White/Black/Gold/Orange are on the jerseys.
I don’t care what the secret’s are, or who hates who, who is gunning for who or whether player’s think there is too much Orange on the jersey.
Our fan base is the laughing stock of the NRL….do i blame rival fans? No. Do i blame our fans? No. Some have unrealistic expectations about what the club can achieve on field, but ALL are on the same page when it comes to how the club is run, because, with all due respect, the club has been a trainwreck for a long time.
Members and fans can’t vote, we can’t have a say. So most vote with their feet (as illustrated by crowd and membership numbers). I’m not one for off field politics but enough is enough.
Wear Bonds singlets with the club name written in permanent marker, operate the club out of an abandoned warehouse, sign the worst players in the game and tear up the contracts of our current stars….i don’t care. I don’t support Wests Tigers for our on field glory, i don’t support Wests Tigers for the players, the board, the CEO or for Balmain or Wests.
At one time this was my club, it felt like my club but that’s changed…..I didn’t sign up as a member to contribute dollars towards the real life ‘Home and Away’ soap opera.
I write this as i’m one of the few who are dumb enough to never turn their back on the club, regardless of issues on field or off field. But i only speak for myself. I am well aware of fans who were burnt during Humphreys time as CEO, many more have no faith in current management, not because of decisions made…but because we all know an off field issue will pop up sooner or later. It happens every year.
Whatever happens with the coach, the boardroom and the roster, i’ll be dumb enough to sign up as a member next year. I guarantee that, but when people who run the club don’t know their brain from their backside, we will continue to struggle. For crowds, for on field success, for memberships and to attract new fans.
I just want a club i can be proud to support. The last 4 years have been anything but that.
The constant media circus is embarrassing and at times off putting.
If there is honestly no issues, then come out and say it. Ban the media from Concord and ban players from talking to the media.
I put time in to running this account to help the club, to grow the supporter base. As i thought everyone with power at the club was doing their best to turn it around. Not for my timeline to be filled with notifications about rumours of discontent, coaching changes and boardroom stupidity. An hour on @NothingButWT each day has me reaching for anti-depressants.
I’ve been a member for a long time, regardless of results, regardless of the coach and regardless of the players.
Do i feel appreciated as a member? Of course not. Do i enjoy supporting a club where the constant bs speculation about the board members and leaks overshadows on field performance? Of course not.
Members and fans aren’t forced to support the club. We aren’t forced to spend our hard earned buying merchandise and propping the club up.
CEO, Board, Staff, Players, Groundsmen….whoever is the cause for discontent and leaks….please fix it….or pack your bags. Because if this continues i can’t see the club surviving for more than 24 months. The image of the club is being torn apart, to a point where Wests Tigers fans and members can’t stand to be a part of it. I didn’t sign up for a soap opera…if i did…i got horrible seats.
Last week was one of the most positive in the club’s history. Fans were happy, players were happy and performing….but once again it’s been turned on its head. Turned in to a week i’d rather forget, and a week i question why i chose this club.
This isn’t a gripe, a complaint, a whinge or an insult. I don’t want MY club to be ripped to shreds in front of my own eyes. Our future on field is bright, lets not ruin it………AGAIN.
