There isn’t corruption.
There is incompetence though and the video ref remains an absolute blight on the game. They actively look to find reasons not to give a try which ruins the spectacle and fan experience at the ground.
We piss the bunker off and the refs will lift their game. Most use it as a crutch currently and are likely going against best judgement.

I agree with this final part in response to dangerous contact. I do not in relation to tries. Given every decision is sent up now try/no try you can not argue they are going against their own best judgement.

I think they are taking a more cowardly and or biased approach to their recommendation.
I.e. the good sides/players probably scored and the lesser player/sides probably didn't.
I'd love to see data for what efforts go up as tries and what doesnt

Thinking there is corruption in the referring ranks is over the top ….

What motivation could there be for Canberra to be gifted referee decisions to the extent they would win the Minor Premiership this year ? This is something that hasn’t occurred for 30 years and a surprise for most people …a lot of experts had them at the bottom of the ladder ..is someone profiting from this somehow ?

That doesn’t mean there isn’t incompetence though …. the bunker is becoming a blight on the game … the challenge system is good …but for on field decisions to be overturned, it should be on the basis of clear evidence to show a mistake has been made … watching a dozen replays of something and freeze framing to me is usually signs of uncertainty and can be unclear .. so those decisions should not be overturned in my view …

In the Warriors game … I thought there was some uncertainty with the disallowed try …and even after the game the Warriors admitted he touched it… but if it was me I would have awarded the try because it wasn’t clear from the video that he touched it or that the ball actually went forward …

Also ..Our game has become a nightmare to adjudicate on …the refs have a very difficult job …. I also watch the EPL and NFL and I see there referees getting it wrong as well..
