Personally I think this is the right decision. How was the decision made? Did both wests & balmain football club members vote on this?

Ashfield had the final say…As magpies rely on ashfield for survival any fight to 'survive' at nsw cup hands will have to rely on ashfield - they have the final say..

Doesn't look like a vote was required… The Wests Tigers have already made the application to the NSWRL for entry into the NSW Cup for 2013.

Great news for the WT's!!!

I wont be voting for it

Who cares. At the end of the day you're nothing but a stonewaller galahs. This can only be a good thing moving forward and you've gained nothing from all your rambling and petty speeches about Wests being hard done by. It seems Wests Ashfield have seen the light so there's one entity with some commonsense.

Keep your non-sensical ramblings about being hard done by to your own forum, not that anyone seems to be listening :roll

Unanimous support for Wests Tigers NSW Cup team

The Wests Tigers Board of Directors has declared its unanimous support for the Club to field a single stream side in the NSW Cup Competition from the 2013 season.

This decision, taken at a meeting of Directors last night, has been confirmed to the New South Wales Rugby League this morning.

The Club now awaits approval from the New South Wales Rugby League for the Wests Tigers side to enter the NSW Cup Competition in 2013.

Makes heaps of sense …
However it does virtually signal the death of both Western Suburbs and Balmain in terms of senior footy.
Let's all climb to our feet, doff our hats and ponder the magnificent contribution of both clubs ....

RIP Western Suburbs Magpies and Balmain Tigers

Long live the mighty Wests Tigers

Good post imo, maybe Wests and Balmain could continue at the Bundi Cup level and surely they would both continue to field Junior Rep teams.

All junior teams (matts and sg ball) will continue

A bundy cup side for magpies could also be possible (taking in overflow of WT nsw cup WT nyc players)

At long last common sense prevails . A Weststigers reserve grade side to follow how good is that ..Congratulations to all concerned for there mature and sensible approach to this complexed area. Imo this is a major step forward for all supporters of all grades and keeps the great clubs of Western suburbs and Balmain as important partners in giving the youth of both areas a pathway to there dreams!!!

So with Balmain being in the red by millions of dolllars….

And the proposed NSW Cup side being called Wests Tigers....

Ryde Eastwood drop out their funding of Balmain....

how are Balmain paying their half of the of the Joint Venture?
