We play our first 4 games in 17 days, Round 1 MNF, Round 2 Sunday, Round 3 FN and Round 4 Thursday compared to the Rabbits who have a 11 day turn around from their first round and second round games.

Don't mind the 4 games in 17 days

If we win the first three (as we should) you just want the footy to keep coming from the players point of view

Will build great confidence also

we also at one point have 4 Friday night games in a row.

Far cry from years ago when we couldn't BUY a Free to air game!

The positives with our draw are that we only have to play two day games in the first six rounds so we won't have to contend with playing in the heat as much as other sides with our only day games being in Rounds 2 and 6.

Love the optimism happy

I haven't looked at every club's draws , but we have one of the best and if we get off to a good start ….... 😛ray:

Who knows we could be a contender yet Bet Potters had a smile on his dial when he looked at the 1st 3 games

Nice pick up Steve O, yeah that could be a tough last game up there in Round 26.

I'll amend my error and have them down in the sides that we place twice.

So 6 of the 9 we made the top 8 last year.

Only the dogs and Raiders from the top 8 last year.

I assume there is a fair that might only play 3 of 9.

Doesn't seem to fair to me

Does the NRL seed the draw based on last season finish position?

iirc, the draw gets handled by a canadian company. Whether or not they have guidelines that they have to operate in I wouldn't be surprised..

No.

They used to when it was a 15 team comp before the Titans came in, based on three groups of 5 teams…..since then its been a real dogs brekky, as Sataris mentioned, done by some canadian mob

I've had an idea about changing the way we set up the draw which has the clubs in control of their own devices and player welfare also being looked after

We play 30 rounds Home and Away But every player can only play a maximum of 25 Rounds , so they get 5 weeks off (the clubs choose when )

No byes and no pre season

What are peoples thoughts on this ??

Thanks Ink…doesn't reward a team for finishing higher on the table previous season so at least we get some benefit in 2013\. Add to that the popularity of WT with FTA TV a nd it seems even if we fail dismally we still come out near the top

Happy - Gr8 idea but they whinge about too many games now so probably no hope of getting up

Interesting Happy. Might have some merit, would probably need to expand clubs roster from 25 to 30 though, although I think that was on the cards once the new rights deal came in.

This is just a brief explanation for the process on how this years draw was reached given by the NRL's director of football operations Nathan Mcguirk (sp?) on talkin sport 2SM Monday 26/11

Channel 9 picked a pool of 52 matches where the NRL were obligated to deliver 48 of those into their designated time slots which are mainly Friday night football and Thursday night football. There is only 43 of those slots throughout the season with the additional matches led into their Sunday picks. Then also Foxsports picked another pool of 52 matches following the 9 picks which again we were obliged to deliver 48 picks into Foxsports premium slots which are Monday night football and also super Saturday 7.30 games. Then add underneath that the venue unavailability where a lot of our venues are now multi use venues, so where venues are unavailable you have to layer that in as well. Then also to look at specific club request, which takes up a big part of our draw trying to balance different request from different clubs where a lot of request actually conflict with each other. So coming to a final draw is a very lengthy process that took us close to a month.

He said that was just the two minute version, I had a look at 2SM's website to see if i could post the link for yesterday's podcast but i couldn't seem to find it.

Thanks .. Suppose they paid $1 Billion for the 'rights' to pick who they want to see play
