As for Mbye, he offers nothing in attack and is a weak defender. Definitely had his chance. Doueihi should be 5/8,I’d probably have Mbye on the bench as a utility,

100% Mbye should be dropped, we had our best game against souths in rd6, it was a GP loss but it was against quality opposition, Doueihi was 6 that day, we should have stuck with that combo


Explain to me how your logic works?

We had our best game against Souffs Rd 6 so we should keep AD at 6?

The next week we lost 40-6 with AD at 6. The week before, we lost to Cowboys with AD at 6. Two weeks later we lost to Titans, with AD at 6.

Please extend that logic for me?

Doueihi was moved to placate Brooks, Brooks couldn't work with Doueihi, Brooks should have been dropped, not move Doueihi

With AD at 6 we won 2 of 9 including two losses to teams below us at the time.

After moving him we have won 3 of 6 (and played 3 of the top 4)

And got absolutely belted the last 3 games when Doueihi wasn't at 6, so whats your point,

Pretty simple point, our win rate, against harder opposition is twice as good when Mbye is at 6 than AD. i.e. we lose twice as many games with AD at 6, against weaker opposition.

I asked why and what is the logic and backed it up with very poor results when we AD is 6 compared to Mbye. You didnt respond with any logic or stats or reality, you responded with an opinion of another persons state of mind that you have never met. Hard to argue with....

Their plan was to attack the edges in tight because the middles are stiff but if you run just off the middles, the edges stay tight and open up outside because they won't shift out. Simple as that. Smash Twal and Tamou because they are the only go forward, the rest are easy stops. Draw Twal and Tamou in defence and hold them in the wrestle so they mark and then pass wide from the play the ball. Run a decoy at or draw Douehei because he'll commit and leave a gap outside. Joffa hurts in defence and made a difference when he came on because he seems to be at the point of attack all the time and niggles and bustles. Rates him. They target LL because he's all over the shop. Rates Brooks. Rates Laurie.

Wow - Reynolds is spot on. A lot of posters have been seeing parts of this all year, yet nothing done. He's right to rate Brooks and Laurie. He is also so right about our edges. Our backrowers just do not shift out to cover gaps - been happening all year. I bet all the other teams have this as a blueprint on how to defeat us.

Good stuff. Pretty much identical to what was discussed in other threads. A & B defenders poor, LL fatigues and has no lateral movement. Tamou poor around the ruck - especially at dummy half. AD runs in and leaves gaps. Space out wide caused by poor work in the middle.

That's the $64,000 question - some things defy logic.

Preparation, warm up, diet, nerves, music - it's anyone's guess. Maybe I should offer myself to give the pre-game speech on behalf of the fans; explain to them how privileged they are and how they should be ashamed of their performances.

Anyone think this is a massive game for Maguire? This game and the two against Bulldogs will have a huge bearing on the club and Maguire's tenure. People are forgiving of subpar performances against top sides but there's absolutely no excuse against lower clubs, and we're playing so badly at the moment that I don't think we can beat anyone. I would still blame players, not Maguire, but I don't think the club could handle the pressure of losing these games and coping the media scrutiny that'd come with it. Big couple months for the future of our club. Sucks that games against Bulldogs and Broncos matter so much.

Absolutley. We have 8 games left
3 Must wins vs Broncos and Dogs x 2
2 Def Losses v Manly and Panthers
3 50/50 games v Warriros, Cowboys, Sharks.

Team and Madge need to win those 3 and then prob best we can hope for is 2/3 from the 50/50 games. We finish with 4/5 wins from the last 8 and Madge holds on.

Our next 4 in QLD are Broncos, Manly, Warriors, Dogs - We need to win the 2 obvious ones and if we also win Warriros then its been a success. Honestly dont mind at this stage if Manly flog us again. The top 6 are in a different league to the other 10 at full strength (and the top 4 clear of the other 2 as well)

I am not sure of that. Check our middle defenders and see which one stop moving out once the ball goes past them.

I said this when Madge made the initial Mbye to 5/8 and AD to centre move. This wasn't sustainable and the only reason he did that was to change things for the sake of it and to ignite a bit of response. Same as Noffa to left wing.

I really respect what Madge is trying to do in the bigger scheme but he needs to stop making these shortsighted changes. The Mbye to 5/8 move paid off for one game when Madge was under fire.

Pick your best 17 in their right positions where they practiced pre-season.
