Your Team v Storm Round 5

I would expect the same team as this week.

Reynolds to come back through State Cup for fitness.

Big fan of Josh Aloiai however have been disappointed with his performance this year. Needs to step up big time.

MCK has been great off the bench this year.

I think Reynolds needs to come via ISP, I know Liddle came straight back in to the team but I think that was mostly because it has been a position we have struggled for consistency in 2018.

There is no point rushing Reynolds straight back into the team when Brooks and Benji are going great.

Take Gamble in the extended squad to NZ and play Reynolds with Drinkwater if he is ready this week.

I feel for Nofa, he runs the ball up like a forward, bust tackles and gives 110% but he isn't good enough for the team at present with his defensive lapses.

I'm not sold on MWZ, does his job but never looks like threatening

Yeah I’m not sold on MWZ either …. still looks slow as a wet week out there. But is defensively better than D. Nofoaluma.
It’s funny our back 3 have defiencies with height speed and positioning but we are still winning.

I’m sure IC will drum it thru to us that the last 10-15 wasn’t acceptable. The other 60 odd was good without being outstanding.
Still plenty to improve on!

Agreed. We are lacking the drive on kick returns tackles 1 and 2, but happy for defense to be key selection criteria for now. MWZ holding on narrowly for now.

I see that Benji had ice on his left ankle during the team song. I hope that he is okay.

Noticed that too.

My guess is hes just at the age where hell have ice on something at the end of every game.

Don't expect any changes..

In the named side or the actual side Geo ??

No injuries reported from the game. ..so i expect 1 '17 to play

Personally i would have Nofoaluma in there as i felt we didn't have the punch coming out of our end from the back 3 we will need against the Storm

Anyone at the game would've seen Tui absolutely struggling with that knee for the last 10 minutes. Hope he is right for this Saturday because we definitely need him in our team.

I watched ISP against Wenty and I really feel for Nofa. Unfortunately Thompson on that right wing is playing absolutely phenomenal so no way in the world Thompson could be dropped. Nofa defensively can't play left wing so only Fonua would be a replacement for MWZ (if needed).

Great news for WT.

Dale Finucane suspended for 1 week plus also out with a fractured thumb

Will Chambers suspended for 2 weeks.

Two quality players missing.

I think Storm will look at our performance in the last 15 minutes and try and target our flanks with their speed men instead of trying to win the forward battle.

1\. Corey Thompson
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Tui Lolohea
4\. Esan Marsters
5\. Malakai Watene Zelezniak

6\. Benji Marshall
7\. Luke Brooks

8\. Russell Packer
9\. Jacob Liddle
10\. Ben Matulino
11\. Robbie Rochow
12\. Chris Lawrence
13\. Matt Eisenhuth

14\. Josh Reynolds
15\. Luke Garner
16\. Chris McQueen
17\. Alex Twal

Nofa’s Defensive reads in ISP were terrible. No way he’ll be promoted imho.

Agreed.
and he's to sluggish of the mark.
If Nof was there yesterday he would not have scored either of those trys(that Thompson scored)in my opinion.

I dont think Nof is playing good enough footy to be picked.
And theres certainly no one playing poor enough to be dropped.

"we are still winning"
Thats the key…....to win games.
MWZ and Thompson have played everygame have not let us down at all.
There is no reason to change what is working for us.

Well if we are looking for punch , Nofoaluma's our man

Storm will be looking to hit our edges and going around us similar to a few of the Parra tries. Kev needs to trust our defence more and stop getting drawn in and leaving our winger 1v2.

I disagree that is Nofoaluma's fault…
