Your team vs Kinghts

Seven recruits will make their Wests Tigers debuts in the match, including new co-captain Jarome Luai.

Also among these players is Tristan Hope, who’ll make his maiden NRL appearance.

The 27-year-old hooker impressed in the Pre-Season Challenge and was recently upgraded from a train-and-trial deal to a Development contract.

Sunia Turuva, Jeral Skelton, Terrell May, Royce Hunt and Jack Bird will also take to the field for their first official matches in Wests Tigers colours.

Jahream Bula and Starford To'a are sidelined with minor injury complaints and are both due to return in Round 2.

Interesting selections...
Faataape in
Tristan Hope off the bench.

A specialist hooker makes sense when you have a Bird that can cover backline, back row and halves plus Turuva can cover fullback.

Toa may be injured or just pipped for Faatape. Hope his defence is up to it.

Yeah was just the fact he wasn't eligible for selection. But read he got upgraded to Dev Contract now.

Faatape against Best scares me a little. Hope he can hold his own!

I’m sure Best and Gagai are shaking in their boots with our demon tacklers Faatape and Doueihi in the centres.
I think I would have gone for Bird in the centres, we need some toughness against the maniac Gagai and Thunder Thighs Best.

I think Faataape deserves to start.
He worked hard last year and learnt a lot. He looked sharp in both trials scoring 3 tries and making a couple more linebreaks.
Best is a big test. Get right in his face and slow him down.
Structure and playing for eachother will be a big part of a WT win especially with our right side defence of Seyfarth, Galvin, Faataape & Turuva. Blind Freddy can see Knights will target here all night so at least we can make plans. Hopefully we are praising these four after the game!

Think you’ll find Douehi playing right centre, exactly where he should be imo.
