I predict
Mmbye dropped or takes Brooks bench spot
Talau to centre
Jennings to wing

Back to the crystal balls..

I hate to say this I got a feeling we could get pumped I reckon they will have to much for us out wide

If we don’t play our best it could happen easily

We really don't have anyone except Lawrence to play centre? I guess he'd attempt to line up on Jennings and Sivo. Waqa Blake would trouble him.

No other forwards to bring in if Twal is still injured. It's down to ET and Mcqueen now.

We have other options but he's doing a decent job of things, so far...

Hopefully Sivo is out and Lawrence's defence will cover the other two

absolutely Geo crystal balls out guessing in the squad however probably strange to drop a winning team but didnt see Brooks being dropped last week so never know

Madge needs to stick with Walters at 5/8 for at least a month regardless ! He needs to settle in and show if he would be long term in that spot as the halves are a major problem for next season .

Different kettle of fish this week for Rowdy at Centre .. up against three quarters and wingers that are the real deal and in form !

1 Moses Mbye
2 David Nofoaluma
3 Chris Lawrence
4 Luke Garner
5 Tommy Talau
6 Adam Doueihi
7 Luke Brooks
8 Alex Twal
9 Harry Grant
10 Russell Packer
11 Luciano Leilua (left)
12 Josh Aloiai (right)
13 Matt Eisenhuth

14 Billy Walters
15 Thomas Mikaele
16 Sam McIntyre
17 Shaun Blore

I'm pretty sure the team announced by Madge will be the same as last week apart from Twal.

I am continuing with my theory that our spine is missing a support player. Mbye was an excellent full back when he started with us and I think his speed and support play with Doueihi as a running 5/8 covers all the facets of a complete spine.

We have seen what a difference getting Packer back to 100% has made, if we are also getting 100% value for Mbye then we have a strong top 8 team with a very good spine. We can also commit more money on a good 2nd rower and wing. if we are not looking for a million $ 5/8.

It's too early to get excited but Packer playing like he did last week is like getting a $700k prop for free. Most us us had written him off and expected nothing from him for the rest of his contract.

Madge tried to fix Jennings, I am guessing that he gave him a list of things to work on, including his fitness, he gave him several chances to show he deserved the left wing spot. I think Jennings has shown that he is not up to NRL standard, but I am not sure about Mbye.

Does Mbye have a long term injury that prevents him from playing fullback? I think he was injured when Corey Thompson replaced him at fullback. The player we signed is wasted at centre, but he may no longer be that player.

1 Moses Mbye - Not on Current Form lucky to be in Team
2 David Nofoaluma
3 Chris Lawrence
4 Luke Garner - Why are we playing in in the backs?
5 Tommy Talau
6 Adam Doueihi - Leave Walters played well when given a chance in his position
7 Luke Brooks - Benji again (Brooks - Not sure if Bench material - Madge call)
8 Alex Twal - Great if he is back in the side, maybe from Bench???
9 Harry Grant
10 Russell Packer
11 Luciano Leilua (left)
12 Josh Aloiai (right)
13 Matt Eisenhuth

14 Billy Walters - Start
15 Thomas Mikaele
16 Sam McIntyre
17 Shaun Blore - Option instead of Brooks

Always good to have players however competing for spots we looked a tad light 2 weeks ago and now have options after giving other players a run.
I also can't see Reynolds making the side again at this stage when returns.

Mybe think Madge likes his defense when he is playing well, have not minded him at centre last year and this, however has put in a few terrible performances especially against the Rabbits a few ago, cost us the game.
I like AD at fullback makes minimal mistakes, and not that nervous when watching if he is under a high ball. Can be caught out of position sometimes.

How about we play a team of players who we will let go next year , and send them out to bash and inflict damage on the slummy eels . Doesn’t matter if they get charged or sent off as long as they take a slimmmey eel with them . Lol 😎👍

I think Doueihi has been very good at fullback. He is safe, a good runner and will only get better. Mbye at 100% is also a good fullback and has shown he is very good in support at fullback, which is the part that I think we are missing.

Nrl physio says all the eels players will be back. Fox sports are saying Moses and Sivo are likely to be out. They’ll probably all be named and do a fitness test tomorrow

I don’t see AD being our long term FB but he’s a good stop gap for the time being

I think you need a spine that has 2 players that can cover :-
Control
5th tackle kicking
Support running
Ball running in broken play
Create space for outside men
there are probably others

Hamstrings are a tough injury to come back from, I would let Jennings have the rest of the year off. We wouldn’t want to bring him back prematurely

Especially with the lightning pace Jennings generates:face_with_rolling_eyes:

I bet Russ got excited with the news that the winger of the decade will be back...

Yes TT, I was so excited I nearly wet myself.
