Obviously Melbourne have o good one. Souths have two which not ideal either (RF could move to Canberra?). It's not just us, lots of teams struggle with the balance of a DH and a utility. Our problem is Reynolds and Benji aren't the best at DH.

Massive pack with size and impact off the bench which we need against the roosters,Twal to replace rochow when he is fit dont believe he is atm,Milne to replace kev most likely next few games.Need to be intimidating in defence,and smash cordner and hargraeves everytime they run it.These two players calve us up everytime we play them.Need to pressure cronk and his kicks and hope the bounce of the ball goes our way and the mighty Tigers can beat these dirty salary cap cheating chooks!

It remains to be seen whether Cook is a genuine 80 minute hooker, his game doesn't really lend itself to 80 quality minutes as he relies too much on speed and explosiveness. Farah is probably past 80 quality minutes these days too. Smith, McCullough and Friend are probably the best going around over 80 minutes. McInness plays the 80 easily enough but I just find him a bit of a plodder.

17\. Twal (Our most effective tackler, you can't not have him in the team)

Think Rochow will get the job over McQueen, Grant over Felise, Sue over Twal and Reynolds will move to hooker when Marshall comes on . This is based on trial form , what Reynolds said about him, Books and Benji being on the field same time.

This is just the team I would pick, not necessarily the team I think Ivan will go with

Understand …was saying what I think he will select based on comments from Ivan about pre season, Reynolds about Benji and hooker role. Think the unknowns are Twal may still be injured and if it was a leg/foot problem he probably wint have had the time to get miles done, does McQeen need time in ISP to get his confidence up.

Top 17 not bad except no utility player could end up expensive if with have an injury..I'd be happy to swap Gamble with Rochow at 17

There are some good team selections in this thread….wouldn't we all like to know whats going through Ivans head at the moment regarding his run on side...

I honestly believe he will put who he has watched over the preseason and in trials,that have performed really well first crack,not going to make a list as it is an emotion driven type thread,and who most want out there and who like certain players over others..

I will be wrapped if Ivan picks his run on side that he considers his best at this stage and they towel up the chooks big time...

However - I am sure that Ivan would pick MWZ before Fonua, and Grant before JJF. Also he's unlikely to name Taylor at Hooker/DH, instead preferring MM or maybe even Godinet. Both Marshall and Twal could be underdone having not had gametime.
 
I just want 17 players who will live and die for WT.

Even if we don't beat the Roosters on the scoreboard I want some pain inflicted on their pack so it sends a message to the rest of the NRL that WT are no long Powder Puffs.

Wish all our players well and please perform to your best ability and work as a united team.

Any player that missed the trials so not be considered in my opinion.

Need the biggest pack and bench we can pick to smash the Roosters.

someone started that on twitter earlier in the day, mcqueens no surprise as he only played 15 mins of the 1st grade trial but i find Nofa very hard to believe

Personally can't see it happening but could you imagine the uproar if he isn't picked? We already lack real firepower in our backline and our most consistent outside back (Bar defensively) could possibly not be picked? Sorry, have I missed something?

If true not really surprised by either give McQueen a couple weeks in reserves to get some confidence up after such a long downtime.

Nofo as good as his attack has been his defence has been a liability and against the Roosters will be exploited.
