OFFICIAL Jersey Flegg Cup

Scored a try kicked 5/7 playing 5/8 2day. He's good

"The Wests Tigers are under the pump, with several rivals chasing another of their brilliant Campbelltown juniors.
Zakauri Clarke, 20, was the highest points scorer in SG Ball Cup for the Wests Tigers last year.
He is a versatile big body who can play front row, lock or on the edge – and he can kick goals.

More importantly for the club, Clarke is off contract at the end of the season. His brother, Cooper, quit Wests Tigers pathways 12 months ago to join Melbourne Storm".

A mate of mine who went to the game said we looked very dangerous in our attack. These are his words:

Our middles (starting and bench) set the platform early running with intent all game. Faagutu, Tofaeono, Hodges, Taungatua and Nicholas were all impressive and they could not be stopped close to the line which is why both Tofaeono and Faagutu got over. He also said Herman didn't play much it seemed came off early in the first and back on late in the 2nd half. Said Faagutu showed why we signed him running with intent all game and he broke the sharks line from 30m out to offload to our centre for our last try.

He said Zak Clarke needs to absolutely stay at 5/8th as he was dangerous both ball playing and running the ball and his combination with Tumeth on the left edge was dangerous. Said very similar to a Wade Graham type of player.

Our 2nd rows in Broaderlow and Tumeth were great attacking the sharks edges and causing mayhem there.

And finally our backs had a very good game couple dropped balls but easily fixable. Bit unfortunate with the few tries we let in but looked like we took motivation from the FG team

Good to hear Faagatu and Tumeth both hitting their steals.
Although on the smaller side for the positions they play, both have raw aggression in their game.
Zak Clarke seems to keep getting better, another we need to keep.

Clarke is an interesting one. Unlikley to get a dev contract with us, but there's just something about him, we should hang on to him but not sure a train and trial will suffice.

I'd like to see Tuipoloutu get a run off the bench next week presuming he's fit. He's got a different body type to current props and has a nice aggressive side to his game too.

Yeah and Clarke has a good boot on him by the look of things.

Apparently Cayne Nicholas started on the bench with Hodges moving to lock and came on as a middle forward for big Herman and was running it hard off every kick off which is a good bounce back from last week's game for him.

I'm hoping Faagutu gets a run in NSW Cup this week after a good start to the season in Flegg (with Kit moving back to Ball for the final round to help Wests qualify for finals). Maybe Tuipolotu comes in then unless Aho returns.

He's been playing good young Clarke. From what I've seen he's a big body who runs hard and also has a boot on him. Be interesting to see if we're able to keep him or lose him like his brother to the storm.
