Mongrel things to get off, thank God they are gone!
I was still using one up till about 2008 ish, until I moved up the coast. I could get Kero from the bowser down the street in The Riff.
Yeah and it was law they had to be stuck in the most difficult spot on the windscreenMongrel things to get off, thank God they are gone!
What about Blue Stratos with the hang glider! Anyone remember?I remember before Brut there was pretty much only Old Spice, Mennen and Cobb and Co. I thought most of us came from Old Spice country but I did switch to Brut coz the ladies preferred you to smell different to their fathers !!
Brut was a revolution , launched by John Waterhouse (of the gambling family). It went from zero to hero in about 12-18months.
Yep, actually originally launched by Old Spice as a second brand to compete with Brut. Still around !What about Blue Stratos with the hang glider! Anyone remember?
Ha ha the old kero heater. Very warming but not a good smell !The Fireside. Love it. My parents would send me outside to the laundry to fill the bottle from the kerosene drum. I was on the strictest warning not to drop the bottle.

I have an elderly mate who, along with his wife and family, celebrate their wedding anniversary at a different venue each year, fully catered with KFC.
Thanks champion @Halbrowne61 - all of us of a certain age just lived for each new Wednesday edition of Rugby League Week. Great up to the minute of all latest clubs' news and everything rugby league. And Ian Heads was the editor so many of those years. Thanks for the memories.Sad to hear of the passing of Ian Heads O.A.M, a very fine and respected journalist who relied on the accurate presentation of facts, rather than grandiose bs to report on Rugby League.
I’m sure many of us have player biographies in our bookshelves written by
him and remember his regular columns in various papers. He also edited Rugby League week for some years.
Of course was also part of setting up
The Immortals concept.
Quietly spoken but sharp of mind he was part of an era of journos sadly gone. Names like Prenter, Tasker, Frilingos,Clarkson, Hyde, Morley and many more. These guys were welcomed by the players because they reported things in a positive not sensationalistic way which engendered respect.
Coz that was the way it was back then and allthose on here of a slightly older age would definitely remember and relate to.
Vale Ian and thanks for all you did for
RL.
An affair with a difference !
You mean that’s not Benji sorting out Bud over that poor line drop out on Saturday ?
