Only recognised second rowers we have are Luciano, Tuilagi and Garner. I don't want to resort to putting Joffa or Seyfarth there so signing someone aa depth seems important

How does the salary cap work mate, are we a player down, do we get any cap relief or you have to promote someone from development or state cuo?
Doesn't seem fair we a player short all season

Seyfarth excelled in the second row in SG Ball. He was always mobile, had high work rate and was not afraid of heavy contact. His game lifted when it got tough. In tough situations, it's the good players that stand up. Let's not turn every big forward we have into a prop.

I'm a big fan of Seyfarth but not sure if he has the mobility to play in the second row in the top grade at the moment?
I wonder if they're trained Tuki and Seyfarth at second row at all. Surely with the limited depth in that position they have some backup plan.

There was mention a couple of months ago by The Pom I think that we were looking at the uncontracted Shark Jackson Ferris as a potential Centre / 2nd Row backup. And don't forget we have Tom Freebairn on T&T so if he has impressed this preseason, he might just get a deal. Although only 19, I think Brandon Tumeth is going to be a fast developer, maybe faster than we think.

The other option which the Eels may consider is releasing Matterson. He played well for WTs and was never afraid of the physical side of the game. We're a much improved club in the coaching Dept with our new assistants and Sheens.

If all players ripped in like Matterson did while at WTs I would be happy for them to complain about training running overtime.
Remember how many times Maguire told everyone who would listen how well the team trained? Then we would go out take a hammering.
I'd think our halves would like a big forward like Matterson protecting them in defence.

Matterson "ripped in"? That's not what I would call it when someone gets their blouse in a knot, kicks stones and moped about and basically holds a club to ransom until they kick his arse to the exit.
Sure he had a handful of games where he did some good things but I can't recall him doing anything much in defence and being a physical minder for the halves.
Plus once Packer and then Kaufusi bounced his head like a squash ball IMO since then he's been badly damaged goods. No thanks.

Yes he did. I recall a solo try where he beat four perhaps five players to score on a tough inside run. Matterson has courage on-field where it counts.

I don't want peachey used as a tackling forward, he's not there for that, we need solid backrowers for the softening up period and peach to come on as an impact loosey or fill in halves.
I didn't think Garner was going to get to much time on the paddock but now with Blore out he'll be needed.
