This is a great thread. Schizophrenia is something I have only ever heard about. I have learnt quite a lot about it so thanks @upthetigers for posting. Must appreciated.

I think we all have our own challenges in life and we all try and battle through. Stay strong mate. Never fear talking about schizophrenia or any other illness ever.

Finally, @LeichhardtTiger there are just no words sometimes....

Mate what's your Avatar?

Anyway, @upthetigers I've never had an opinion of schizophrenia, other than what I have heard that dispelled the myth that it's split personalities.

Good luck on your journey fella, pretty solid community on here for the most part with what seems one obvious exception, seems there's a few that have experienced some forum of mental illness and would be happy to lend an ear.

Keep well and stand tall.

I am in a good headspace now I was absolutely shattered when I first got the diagnosis I won't lie. Especially because most people get it in their late teens or early twenties not at 35.

If this thread achieved anything, it's that I brought some awareness to schizophrenia which is widely misunderstood and I am happy about that.

Good on you. I have liked reading this thread.
Is it only defined as split personality’s or is there more possible symptoms

Cobar mate second row first on left, I have that exact members badge on my keys, #300 from 1974-75.

It belonged to my Grandfather's younger brother who was a twin and was born disabled due to complications at birth. He was a super mad Tigers fan who lived in Leichhardt and spent loads of time down at the Leagues Club. All the players knew him and were always taking time to talk to him. He managed to live to a decent age and be semi-autonomous despite his disability.

It reminds me how deep a history my family has with the club (my Grandfather was one of 8 brothers born in Lilyfield in the 1920s).

That is totally insane, totally totally unbelievable.
Who would think that me a stranger to you [other than WT Forum] would search ebay and post these badges, one of which is in the series of your G Uncle.
Is #300 his M'Ship number?
I frequented the club during that period and probably ran into him but I can't recall a disabled patron [except me after a session 🤣]
Good stuff. Any other family besides you who are tiger supporters?

Yeah #300 was his membership #; not sure if that was the same number every year. There might have been more badges handed out amongst the family; I've never thought to ask. I was given the badge when Uncle Harry died, with some other Tigers things because I was already a mad Balmain boy when I was young.

Yes most of my family are Tigers supporters - once you get 8 boys growing up in Lilyfield, then all their kids, many of whom marry people from the Inner West, it breeds a lot of local supporters. Lots of women in my family however and they tend to be on the more casual side of supporting (they'll watch it if it's on). Then my cousin's wife's family were mad Magpies supporters, so that all worked out for him.

The only black sheep is my brother-in-law who is a die hard Rabbits man, with his brothers and his Dad, so it's hard to convince my young nephews that Tigers are a better choice.

That's an AWESOME yarn, it's what this country was all about, unfortunately it's dying.
As you probably know Norm and Peter Provan were my cousins and their family and extended family is huge in sport where ever they went, Peter actually arranged for me to trial with Balmain juniors.
Norm and I have had some unbelievable yarns over the years, RIP.
