Sure I get it it's a trial. But we had no direction in the halves. Kicking game was terrible. Nothing has changed. Peach looked ok and boy from newie looks great. Young dummy half that came on looked good too. Can't wait to see Jacko next week.

I don't disagree with your opinion KT, however i believe that a tremendous amount of negotiating and planning has been made for the future of the WT and some of it is already partially achieved, i also believe that the WT need respected men more than ever who sincerely care and give their hearts and dedication to the club and T.Sheens is one of them true Tigers and the best man for this role.

He's in one of the most important positions in the side, He needs to run hot... 100% of the time.

To put it in perspective, I don't think Gutherson is far outside the top 6 Fullbacks in the game, But I think Laurie is far more skillful than Gutho... and it's not close.

First year in the top grade playing behind a team that spent a lot more time on the back foot than going forward. Based on that I thought he had a great rookie season and looking forward to seeing more in the coming season.

If Dillon is good enough to push a maintaining form Laurie out, great, as based on last years effort we will then have a top line player at the back.

Completely agree. That play was all guts and effort and he played well for us all year. I’d argue he was our best, and was certainly our best back.

I don’t think I could ever doubt his mettle or attitude on the field. He comes to play every single game.

What Sheens has done is identified the 2 areas where we were vulnerable, ruck control and energy and toughness in the fowards.
He has proven that with 2 astute signings of Api and Papa. I could just about guarantee there will be a further 2 new forwards in our pack in 2023.
The other area is our centres, look for another back signing.
I refuse to believe Sheens won't produce in these two areas.

What position are you suspecting these two new forwards to take?
Are you also suggesting an experienced centre will be sought?

Tim Sheens was a silly old goat when he was run out of town years ago.
If he has found a cure for that, he should bottle it.
So far he has made some good decisions…the bad can’t be far away Lol…

I'm suspecting Garner may go to Eagles because of grass roots but purely speculative and with Lucy going it's that position I believe Sheens would be working overtime to get a quality player.
We also need a damaging back, someone who is big and powerful like a Sivo or Ferguson, that type.
Most top teams have a damaging runner.
Where will we get them from?
Your guess is as good as mine.
Could it be from the old dart considering our english connection of Gildart, Hastings and Sheens who were over there.
I thought Thompson was a shoe in but ney.
All the managers would know the type of player we want so it could be a release type signing. 🤔

Something called the salary cap that hindered us under sheens. He had the right plan. Just lost key personnel. Ellis . Tuiaki. The young lad that did his arm. We lost lafranki. And our window closed. I trust sheens over any other muppet we have had over the last 10 yrs.

Back on topic very poor Madge has not decided who the captain is yet. Come on surely you know by now.

As far as capt goes maybe Madge wants to see how things pan out in 2nd trial, a smokie could be Hastings but he missed the first trial, who's your pic considering AD is out.

I know its only a trial game but when they called our try back for obstruction .. why didnt they call first Manlys first try back for obstruction .. go back and watch it .. Manly's lead runner runs straight into our player denying our player a chance to come across .. exactly what we got pinged for ... if the TV refs are gonna call what they can see .. they better be consistent .. it was terrible.

Let's hope next weekends trial against the Rorters we go better, otherwise we're in for another long hard season of misery.

After watching bits of all the trials we seem to behind most teams in speed and intensity. Most teams these day have speed and power games, we just seem to play to a very basic structured game plan in both defence and attack, that causes very little problems.

We are not going to beat anyone unless we rethink how to play
