Doueihi..remember who was our full back before laurie? mbye
You spelt doueihi wrongremember who was our full back before laurie? mbye
Just rewatched it on Kayo mini replay. Number 12 for manly runs into Luciano taking him out of the defensive line. Only difference between that play and the Foran obstruction was that Manly scored so quickly that Luciano couldn’t have made it across to tackle the try scorer. With the Foran obstruction he could have made it across to tackle Nofo. Had Nofo scored in the corner instead of coming in I suspect it would’ve been awarded a try. You'd wanna hope that with Laurie and Hastings back we improve in attack .. but whats with our forwards .. not one of them looked like they were gonna penetrate the defence line .. then also not one of them aimed up in our defence.
I know its only a trial game but when they called our try back for obstruction .. why didnt they call first Manlys first try back for obstruction .. go back and watch it .. Manly's lead runner runs straight into our player denying our player a chance to come across .. exactly what we got pinged for ... if the TV refs are gonna call what they can see .. they better be consistent .. it was terrible.
Let's hope next weekends trial against the Rorters we go better, otherwise we're in for another long hard season of misery.
I thought that at the time..btw Foran still had a shot on Nofoaluma no way he stops that TRY..with or without obstruction..Just rewatched it on Kayo mini replay. Yep agree also. Some have said Dillon in 30mins offered more than Laurie did all year which is a dumb statement.
Dillon gets alot of slack given he hasn't played with the big boys before but he isn't NRL ready and isn't in the same ball park to Laurie at the moment. That could very well change over time & hope he becomes one of the rare kids that lives up to their skill & promise within the NRL level.
People are building him up, but we need to keep it real as well. This kid needs time.
Have we just watched a trial game or am I somehow got mixed up and it’s August 2022.That won’t automatically make everything just fine.
The team needs to improve now.
Papa won’t make bugger all difference if our incumbents can’t defend, have limited attacking skills and the clubs depth is sub par.
This squad must improve enough to play finals this year.
He's our first decent fullback since Teddy really... we've had all kinds of dud at fullback. Doueihi is a gun but he's not suited to fullback long termremember who was our full back before laurie? mbye
I agree and I’m pretty sure that next off season will again produce a large % of turnover. Players with or without 2023 contracts will be on their way unless they show- produce results and show improvement. What Sheens has done is identified the 2 areas where we were vulnerable, ruck control and energy and toughness in the fowards.
He has proven that with 2 astute signings of Api and Papa. I could just about guarantee there will be a further 2 new forwards in our pack in 2023.
The other area is our centres, look for another back signing.
I refuse to believe Sheens won't produce in these two areas.
Sounds like an old footy injury @Cobarcats ?Good hey. Just had a shoulder replaced so foxtel and I have become good friends. WHAT DAY IS IT 😁
Had the knee replaced two years ago ha ha.Sounds like an old footy injury @Cobarcats ?
How's the pain level and recuperation time as compared to a knee/hip replacement?... neither of which I have had luckily.
I’m just stating that a fair few people have written off the upcoming season before a blow is struck.Have we just watched a trial game or am I somehow got mixed up and it’s August 2022.
That may be a better time to load your ammo.
Mate that is spot on, I said earlier post that if some players don't perform, maybe noone will want them, Garner in particular.I agree and I’m pretty sure that next off season will again produce a large % of turnover. Players with or without 2023 contracts will be on their way unless they show- produce results and show improvement.
This year will be a watershed season for our club administrators, players and the coaching staff.
And that’s a good thing.
Good pointI’m just stating that a fair few people have written off the upcoming season before a blow is struck.
Its a defeatist mindset.
The squad we have now have to lift and push for finals this year so that when the talent we have purchased arrive next year, they can capitalise on the momentum created and drive us towards proper success.
Who's the former 1st grader you mentioned? @DempsKnowledge of a former first grader 🔥🔥🔥
Luke Brooks is better than Tyson Gamble tho.
I was just having some fun man.Who's the former 1st grader you mentioned? @Demps

Even if they don’t, the results won‘t be any better. They simply aren‘t good enough.I'll admit I have written them off. If I gambled, I'd put money on either Cowboys or us to win the spoon. However, as you can see even you are somewhat thinking of next year. We can say whatever we like but I hope the squad doesn't have the defeatist attitude.
You always have to have an eye to the future and forward planning is essential. I am thinking of next year and beyond, whilst not writing this one off. I expect them to make the 8 this year.I'll admit I have written them off. If I gambled, I'd put money on either Cowboys or us to win the spoon. @Cobarcats It sounds like something pretty bad😵💫/dangerous 🥵 happened to You.Had the knee replaced two years ago ha ha.
Na not footy but army injuries, had knee, right shoulder, 2 finger joints, back and neck fusion and jaw replaced [jaw by far the worst pain]. Now you know why my golf handicap has blown out 🤣 my mates believe I cheat at golf because I've had performance enhancing surgery, my missus disagrees 😜
