LIVE GAME Trial 1 v Manly

Live Game Discussion
He thought so too. Bloke next to me behind the goalposts gave him a gobful for being out of position for the 40/20 and Nofa stared him down for a few seconds. Then when he met in the try the guy told him to blame someone else on Twitter for it and Nofa stared directly back at him again for a few seconds 😂😂😂
Not sure why Noffa would care…seems a little precious lol

It was Luci and Mikaele - the gap only occurred because Mikaele was too lazy to slide across from marker after Luci raced out to nail DCE.
True, You could also include Liddle’s lack of urgency to nail Cherry-Evans. He had a clear view of Luci sweeping across to C-E and had Liddle relieved him of that responsibility, it leaves Luci to mark up on Tom. Lack of awareness from Lids.

that try was a 100% guarantee not Gildarts falt, it was like a 3v1
Thats correct - Gildart had 3 on 1 and held off to see if Brooks was going to catch Turbo. He committed once it was obvious Brooks wasn't going to get there. There was a lot of bad defence that led to that try. 1. Luci rushes out from marker to nail DCE even though he is covered in defence by Liddle 2. Mikaele stands flat footed at marker instead of covering for Lucis rush of blood. DCE turns the ball back inside to a gaping hole for Turbo. 3. Once he went through the hole Offa's lateral movement was too slow to cover. 4. Brooks should have held his ground outside Tualigi when Turbo swerved to the outside. Instead he moved inside and behind Tualigi thinking Turbo would straighten. And that left Gildart marking 3 players because for some unknown reason Toa was in the middle of the field.

100% right DP.

Mikaele. I said last year 'Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane". He has to be the laziest footballer I have seen in a long time. Either that or he has NO motor.

Somehow always seems to avoid criticism on this forum though.

Serous question, did you agree with the guy next to you watching live, as you obviously had a good perspective, with Nofoaluma having already dropped well back behind the play and the ball went over at around the ten metre line?

Objectively viewed, it was a 50 metre kick and certainly hard to blame him viewing from the normal camera angle.
Honestly we were barely watching. Caught up w 3 friends I hadn't seen in months and we were 6 deep by that stage. We snuck into the VIP up top of the stands towards game end. Yeah, we were pretty cut.

Probably not Noffa's fault.

Mikaele has copped plenty don't worry.

"feet for hands" or "flippers hands" gets around a fair bit when describing him

It was a perfectly executed kick moreso than bad positioning from Nofa imo.

Cherry has a fair boot on him and it won't be the last 40/20 he'll kick

You can even add a point before point 1. If you look at Manly’s previous set of six, on the fifth tackle they run at Luciano and Mikaele (Its when there is exactly 3 mins remaining on the clock). On that play Luciano attempts to rush from marker but Manly have two players grab him to prevent him getting to DCE. On the next set of six DCE guides them to the exact same position on the field and forces both Luciano and Mikaele to make the tackle on the 5th (creating the same scenario they faced earlier). Remembering what happened on the last set, Luciano sprints out, leaving the gap for Turbo to run through. In my mind this was a premeditated set-up. We were outsmarted and it highlights the little things the top line halfbacks get up to in order to isolate tiring opposition players and leave them with their pants around their ankles.

To'a is not a centre but I think he could develop into a good one. I really want this guy in our side, and wings appear full.
