Just rewatched a bit of the match to review the above no try incident: incidentally I noticed Dillon beat liddle to dummy half a few times (could have been a reason but I think there’s a trend there) and his urgency and pace definitely puts the opposition on the back foot!
 
Caught the highlights clip for my first look at the match today and thought Nofoaluma was again harshly judged for the tries on his side if the field, though being so close to the line he could have gone higher on Parker to wrap up the ball. It all broke down from Lucy on one of them and he also created the space from marker to allow DCE back through next to the ruck and a lazy Mikaele to finish the half.

Bad luck on the Nofo no try as Liddle created all that space with his work in the first few metres off the ruck.

watched forwards on repeat,Liddle popped new wig bulked up

The 2 tries weren't on Nofo.

Parker try his body was actually more committed than his inside man who was tracking backwards to the line, Nofo was pushing forward.

Try 2 we had a player down who didn't come off and was fine after the try was scored. Manly had a 2 man overlap because we didn't line up on the short side and Turbo eats that up everyday.

Hadn't gone looking for it and having started a course last week and a full start to the week, I just got around to it.

Have real trouble paying even a cent to any Murdoch organisation, so not going to start a subscription for a trial. Will check the weather and see if my young fella wants to head down the road to catch the chooks game at Gosford on Friday.

Yeah, I was just going off the live game thread, but I suppose that I should have allowed similar bias for Nofoaluma as the anti Brooks brigade comments.

He thought so too. Bloke next to me behind the goalposts gave him a gobful for being out of position for the 40/20 and Nofa stared him down for a few seconds. Then when he met in the try the guy told him to blame someone else on Twitter for it and Nofa stared directly back at him again for a few seconds 😂😂😂

I have seen the second half and managed to watch the first half this morning and all I can say is WOW. There are some really poor judges in this forum, and they are way too harsh.

Before you type (and you know who you are), no, I don't accept mediocrity. But I am a realist. We are unlikely to figure in the top4. And may well miss the 8....

But I saw a couple of semi rusty teams both do some good things. Wet, against last years top 4 side, still with key players out... and we are panicking? Some of the reviews in this thread have to be 100% trolls, or people who need to move on and support another team.

The only try I saw that was genuinely preventable was early on when Jock Madden went forward, then backward in the defensive line - which jagged everything. Otherwise there wasn't anything between the two teams outside of Tom T and some inside balls from DCE. In fact I thought we were better for a good period. One try was a close knock on, one try was called obstruction, a Manly try from complete broken play. I mean, really...

EDIT: And yes, we may well get touched up by the Roosters - but I fully expect that and the roosters would be disappointed if they didnt. But its still a trial.

Serous question, did you agree with the guy next to you watching live, as you obviously had a good perspective, with Nofoaluma having already dropped well back behind the play and the ball went over at around the ten metre line?

Objectively viewed, it was a 50 metre kick and certainly hard to blame him viewing from the normal camera angle.

The try that Turbo set up Gildart was backpedaling instead of coming forward to put pressure on the player with the ball.
