Michael Maguire has lost one of his key allies at Wests Tigers after Scott Woodward parted ways with the club.
Woodward was the recruitment and list analyst at the Tigers, often providing recommendations to Maguire on potential signings. However, the arrival of Tim Sheens and the return of Warren McDonnell reduced the reliance on Woodward. The club also has Matt Betsey and Brett Kimmorley involved in their pathways.
They were overstocked in that department and Confidential understands the Tigers felt the club would be better served directing Woodward’s money into other aspects of the football operations.

There’s not much to get excited about is there? We have faith cos we have an emotional attachment. We believe anything is possible. To everyone else, we‘re bottom feeders. That’s life when you have the record we do. It’s going to take a significant change in the roster to raise outsiders eyebrows. That could happen next year if we had 1 or 2 more solid signings on top of who we already have signed.

Brainless media writers and commentators who don’t have the intellect or imagination to think for themselves just jump on the bandwagon. We are and have been whipping boys for a long time so it’s easier to just dig the boot into us because it gets a rise and is generally accepted as true whether it is or not.
If you were an impartial commentator on the NRL you would look at a number of teams with better rosters than ours, over recent seasons, that have done worse than us. For some reason writing continually negative rubbish about them isn’t of benefit.

I remember that Woodward fella doing pre season analysis in the media/maybe his own website.... Very critical of us.... Way back when.... Rightly so too

He comes on board for a few years.... Seems to do sfa, we've gotten worse in fact

Don't let the door.......

he targeted and picked out Stef and simpkin and laurie so going ok to be fair he was the eyes for Madge
just think Sheens can do talent scouting himself

Every pic I see of Madge he looks like he's thinking '**** this place'😅

I see the opposite. I see a bloke that actually does care about the club. I actually get the feeling he does love the club. Whether or not he is a good enough coach for us on a tactically or man management level is another question but IMO we havent had a coach that cares this much about the club and team as much since Sheens.

Every fan thinks the media have it in for their club. I can never understand why people read articles from journos that they have no respect for?

Yeah I agree with you. Looks like he's poured his heart and soul into the joint.
Would love to see him win a premiership with us, he deserves it, but sadly I don't think he's the right fit. Would love to be proven wrong

And the refs. Even Roosters supporters think the NRL have it in for them. Let that sink in.

Tigers aren't really getting much positivity out of media including Channel 9, Fox, Bloke in a Bar or YTKR...noone is expecting anything.

I really hope Jackson Hastings has a great season and the Tigers make the 8.
Agreed Fox Sports leads the charge, with local junior James Hooper the worst of the lot.

Roosters constantly claiming they get the rough end of the penalty count just like us Wests Tigers supporters do.

Trial game against Roosters we win penalty count something like 9-2 and what's more, Gerard Sutton is the ref.

That one is still sinking in.
