Putin may win this armed conflict if:
1) He commits to house to house fight, he has to be prepared to heavy casualties, or he may use Chechens, Syrians etc. as the cannon fodder ;
2) He disregards the Geneva convention and indiscriminately uses weapons of the mass destruction on populated areas - e.g. thermobaric bombs, and destroys cities, and kills civilians on mass. He may use the old Roman "destroy completely a smaller village, the larger one will surrender"

3) combination of 1) and 2)

I can see your way of thinking,but I dont think it will come to the mass destruction that it appears could be....the Ukranian Military is way out numbered by the Russian forces..
I see it more as a capitulation from their military....
Its was interesting to note,just on a different tangent for the minute...Nato has been mentioned on here heaps...I did a little research and found that it was formed after ww2 it grew bigger when the Warsaw pact was created...the Warsaw Pact was disassembled after talks with the powers that be and Nato also would be,however the Nato forces only got bigger and didnt do as they promised and also disassemble..

Have a look back in history and see who benefitted most from those conflicts....

Also many of the countries who joined NATO are ex Warsaw Pact members,its not hard to work out why they felt the need to protect themselves against a country that has a record in suppressing other countries

I am not over there, however I have many family and friends in an adjoining country. They are telling me of the tens of thousands of Ukrainian refugees that are sleeping in railways stations because the government there cant house them all. No doubt they are all crisis actors I guess.

Now I have two questions for you...

firstly.....if all the civilians are praising the Russian army, for getting rid of the nazi scum....how come the Russians havent been invited into Kienv and Kharkiv already. Kharkiv has the highest ethnic Russian population and has fought brutally and managed to keep the Russians out.

Second question....that video I posted above of the devestation in Borodyanka, filmed by Reuters and broadcast by the BBC. WHat is your explanation for that? Is it your contention that that is fake?

Their accounts including the torrent of refugees, backs pretty much what I am seeing with my own eyes from reasonably reputable sources. Occams razor, Im pretty comfortable with my take on things.
