Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Rather Kyle over Brooks anyday, plus he can kick..

He has struggled big time over the last few years, it's almost like the kids get chucked into the deep end / rise to NRL way to fast and just can't deal with what happens next. Issue I have with that is we haven't seen any of those types actually be consistent in the NRL once they hit a speed bump of sorts. By the sounds of it so far Kyle has started 2022 well and is playing more direct style of footy so maybe if he gets his confidence back and slowly moves up he could add value. I'm not convinced he would add value expected of him here - the expectations on him wouldn't be small & he has struggled at the Roosters & Bulldogs with large amounts of expectations.

Mate - It's been this grim for years....
I wish I could be bothered to find the post I put up at the end of 2011 stating we weren't anywhere near as good as we were in 2010.... Back then it was obvious of our decline. Outside a couple shining lights - We've been going backwards since.

That said, I'm more confident this year and moving forward than I have for years...
How you can support a team that’s missed the finals for a decade than get upset when people aren’t enthusiastic boggles the mind.

So if we possibly have this next year -

3. Douhie
5. Maumolo

6.Douhie/someone else
7. Hastings
8. Stefano
9. API
10.
11.papalii
12. Nikora

15. Pele
16. Fainu

That's a decent forward pack that any coach would want to work with.

I have no idea who goes in the spaces though. As far as I'm concerned I only want to keep 5-6 of the current squad. The rest can go

People would really have a reason to complain if he was on the roster
It's funny. He has the attributes to be a halfback. Just not the ticker. First thing he needs to do is go to the line then pass or kick. Not 3/4 metres before the line. You think his Father would be telling him.

Don't come at me bro - I've been passive with you for a while now.
I'm not upset at all - and still support the team.

I was more referencing that it's no more dire this year than the previous years...
Your post implies to me that this year is worse than any other, And I don't feel it is- Especially after 2 rounds.

Your question could also be aimed at you.... Or anyone.
Yet - We're all still here?

We're all still here - Because we support the club and want to be..
Watching them makes it hard enough... Surely.

I was referring to old mate who came at me, not you.

people support the WT for a different reasons, and some support them unconditionally, an old phrase comes to my mind "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen"😉

I dont necessarily lump you in with this IBWT, but the pack mentality of this place lately has been terrible and really dragging the forum down.

The club has been terrible for over 10 years. We seem to be getting a lot worse with few possible solutions on the horizon. Plenty of reasons to be negative. The entire forum is understandably negative without even referencing the constant anti Brooks threads which of course have merit as have the constant "Sack Madge" threads.

GNR4LIFE posts something that is being said by most other people in literally every other football thread and there is a pack of posters here that jump on him immediately. If GNR bites back, other members of the pack jump in on him. Ive chosen IBWT post to quote because the end result is always "well if you dont like it get out". Thats not what this forum was about, nor in my opinion should it be.

Its GNR now, in the past its been me, Cochise and Willow. The only reason its not happening to Cochise right now is he only posts in the Ambush threads, Willow is obviously gone and I bite my tongue in most threads.

Ive decided to call it out because it doesnt seem right that certain forum members should have to shut up, bite their tongue and not express their opinion whilst other posters can flood what ever dribble they want, depending on whether they are in the pack or outside.

Fire away..

Cheers mate. I know I have a reputation with some for being a bit of a dick. And believe it or not, I‘ve tried to change that image. I at least have some self awareness of how I look at times, unlike others.

I'd like to agree with you and after the Storm game, I thought we were finally on the way up. Last week, however.... It just seems like groundhog day.

That’s thing thing though. How many times in the last couple years have we put in a big effort where we have nearly rolled a premiership heavyweight which gets you to believing that it’s a turning point, only to come out the very next week and lose to a side down the bottom of the ladder. It’s a re-occurring theme.

Maybe that's it: the big effort and the energy expended, but not quite getting the result -> leaves the team deflated the following week, resulting in debacles like the v Newcastle game!

I was really disappointed with Benji's response last night on 360. It was was the perfect opportunity to respond to Kent's (very obvious) cues, and call out last Sunday's performance for what it was - poor. His replies reflect the club as a whole - '3 other teams are on 0 & 2', 'we have a new team this year and things will change', 'I don't know what the problem is', 'the tigers get bagged in the media more than anyone else' etc etc.
Love him or hate him, P. Kent is sticking it to the Tigers atm because he is hearing the fans and their years of frustration. I say the media should give it to us more!! At the end, Kent gave up on Benji because his responses were so lame, and Benji laughed at him.
The rotten culture has existed for over a decade and will continue to do so for a while to come.
