Have tickets to see them again in December, so sad about this. Could possibly be the end of the Foo fighters as well.

I have tickets as well. Too early to speculate if they break up or not, but they may take an indefinite hiatus.

Unf for Taylor Hawkins the bloke had a long-term drug issue and eventually it caught up with him.
He wasn’t just their drummer, him and Dave were like symbiont life forces…
I just can’t see Dave doing Those songs without him!!

Could go the way of Led Zepplin and not continue the way Zepplin did after Bonham died.
That’s the other thing…
It’s a bit easier to dust yourself off and go again in your 20-30’s… bit different on the other side of 50.
I think they’ll do something at some point, but as for being a fully functioning full time band - I just can’t see them replacing him,

Yeah, could very well happen. I don‘t think it’s a stretch to say Taylor’s death would hit Dave harder than Kurt’s did.

Another great band.
For sure man…
He was in Nirvana for 3 years - and they kinda had different lives outside the band…
Grohl and Hawkins have been thick as thieves on and off stage for 25 years… friends longer than that..
He’d be broken to his core…

Never heard any kind of tension or conflict as you do with a lot of bands together that long.
Understand your point - same with STP…
I feel the difference with those bands and the loss of the singers, it always kind of held them back and they’d have always felt there was more that could have been done…
Foo Fighters have done it all!!
They’re family man, I’ve followed them super closely for a long time - I just can’t imagine it…

That’s why I mentioned Zepplin earlier. They were a family. The common belief in music is that you can replace anyone but the singer, but when a band like Zepplin were as tight as they were lose a brother, they can’t do it anymore. I can’t think of another current drummer who is as well known as Taylor was. He and Dave were equal in terms of being the face of the band.

My wife was saying yesterday that out of bands that she is not a avid follower of that Taylor was about the only one whose name she knew.
The loss of their on stage banter would just make a Foo Fighters show a completely different experience moving forward.

Yeah I was supposed to see STP on Wednesday night after they have replaced 2 singers that passed away. We all the muck around of that tour I didn't end up going.

I’m glad i was able to see STP on their last tour here with Scott.
I saw them 2 weeks back at maitland…
So glad I did. I’d seen Scott with velvet revolver in the UK. He was clean and on fire, the best front man I’ve ever seen…
I love STP one of the most under rated bands to come out of that time… I couldn’t miss the chance to see them even without Weiland - those songs are all time!! I could have cried man… sooo good!!
