Laurie's first effort for the Clifford try vs Knights was diabolical, totally lacking in courage and commitment. The rest of his 79 mins wasn't much better. He singlehandedly lost us the game last week.
I don't reckon it's a good idea or sends a great message to reward efforts such as those with continued gigs in 1st grade. We don't have much to choose from as far as replacements go but at least pick someone who has a dig.

But now we gotta deal with Garner/Seyfarth bench when it should be Twal starting for Mus, Kelma off bench instead or Mikaele in… several options right there to open the door wide open. Garner has proved to be a poor bench candidate many times over!

Cat Fifita went absolutely MIA last week, ran the ball two or three times in the whole 2nd half when they needed him to stand up. Cat. But he will destroy our team on Thursday 200+ metres or more easily. It's gonna be a car-crash of a night, not looking forward to it at all.

Madge won't be out there sadly. He would at least give his all.

I understand the criticism of Laurie. But to play devils advocate he missed a certain try sure however he didn’t miss it through lack of effort. He still put himself in the contest, it will come. The whole team is lacking the confidence to put it all together; not just Laurie.
Toa was good and his speed was an asset. With a short turn around and the flight who knows how the two vets will pull up before the game. He is injury cover and with his utility value fair enough. He is not going to out place Daine after a good showing on the wing.
We start well. Stefano did a good job of setting the tempo and we need to keep that momentum going. Musgrove is a given over Twal to start. Peachy will come on early and Joffa will play prop again. But in this game you’ll be trying to get as many minutes out of the two starting front rowers as possible before bringing Seyfarth and Twal into the contest. Don’t want anymore interchange bungles.
