Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I've said it before, privatisation seems to be the only way ahead for us. We just keep going in circles. Only then will we be able to weed out the bad element from the club.
And if that private owner decides to sell the licence to a WA businessman for a quick profit? I can imagine our ol' mate Benny doing something like that. Using his profile to secure the licence, then selling 5 minutes later. Resulting in the Perth Pirates taking our place.
I also follow the NFL and it must be heartbreaking for cities/regions to lose their teams to another location and have them renamed. What is worse is when your team tanks for it's last couple of years, in your town, so it can hit the ground running in it's new location, with higher picks/better players, like the Raiders just did. So fans go to the games, watch their teams lose, then get to say goodbye.

I think the NRL would have some say about relocation but to be honest, if it brought about continued success, it wouldn't faze me

It’s a business but at the end of the day it’s still much more than that. Not many employees put their body on the line for each other like rugby league players. There are some real heavy emotions going on inside the walls. It’s not like passing Fred in the tea room and having a chat. It is a brotherhood and I don’t think that many businesses would be dealing with the same bonds.
I think you'll find there's more businesses than you think that heavily rely on each other in an even deeper capacity than not letting a try scored or making a tackle. Emergency services, the military, even trades heavily rely on each other for safety so they return home every day to see their families and even putting themselves on the line for people they don't even know. Don't make the NRL out to be something extraordinary.

You may be right but knowing our club we'd end up with Clive Palmer or one of the Packers as an owner using us for tax benefits 🙂

I’m pretty comfortable in my belief we’ll never move to Perth. There’s never been any hint of it, only a few chicken little supporters claiming it’s on the cards without any evidence.
If we can’t attract quality players to Concord we have zero hope of attracting them to Perth. At present our brand name is on the nose and will be to we have some consistent success

What about Will Pryce?

Horror Super League tackle catalyst for NRL switch

Newcastle's Mitch Barnett isn't the only player in the hot seat for an ugly incident in the past week.

Last week in Super League, Huddersfield Giants star Will Pryce was given a ten-match ban for an awful spear tackle on Hull FC's Connor Wynne.

A man who knows Pryce well - former England Test star Richard Mathers - believes the lengthy ban will see the talented utility back pack his bags and try his luck in the NRL

Mathers tweeted: "Bad tackle no doubt. 10 matches is ludicrous. That in my opinion has put final piece of jigsaw for his move to the NRL, where they haven't turned the game on it's (sic) head."

Several NRL clubs are already looking at Pryce, whose father Leon played 17 times for Great Britain.

At 19, Will has already won selection for the England Knights, considered to be the feeder team for the England Test side.

Recently employed a few tradies. One of them saved his mates life twice in the same day.
One thing WT could learn from some organisations is the value of teamwork and how to become an efficient, effective team.

id be offering Angus 800k for 4/5 years. he's only 26 and an elite edge forward. a pairing of papalii and Crichton would be huge. If any youngsters come along in that period papalii can be shifted into the middle. make it happen madge!

While I agree its huge he’s already signed on again with the Roosters

Nanai staying at Cowboys despite big money offers.
No point increasing your offers. He's staying
He's been living in NQ for 3yrs now, has family in Cairns I think. He's comfortable, I don't see him leaving. They'll probably offload McLean which will probably free up enough cap space.

We are in a depressing state at the moment and I think its going to get worse before it gets better unfortunately... This is going to be a really rouge year and hoping we can snag a few signings in the top level to join Papa and Api.
I believe if we can somehow get another 2-3 quality signings we will turn this around as the ground work has been done and we just need to weed out the players that are just happy to be playing.. We need better
