Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

id be offering Angus 800k for 4/5 years. he's only 26 and an elite edge forward. a pairing of papalii and Crichton would be huge. If any youngsters come along in that period papalii can be shifted into the middle. make it happen madge!
You think he'd leave the Roosters to join us for LESS money??? Seriously?

We should start recruiting like this. Yeah he came for $500k less than the Roosters were paying him because they suck. Just give him a cool $2 million signing bonus or something like that under the table.

Angus signed a one year deal around the size of lucys contract with the cows I believe. so 800k is more than what he'll get, you also give him the job security till he's 31. Roosters have higher priorities with their young guys coming through plus madge has an established connection with Crichton. He should definitely be a main target for the club along with a strike center. it's not too far-fetched either.

I like it, but wouldn't be giving him 800k a season for the next 4-5yrs though.

Rorters are not happy with his form....if he doesn't improve they will look to offload him.
Careful what you wish for...
I think he's on the decline, He's very sluggish these days and think he's destined for the middle. I can't see him at lock with the way locks are zipping about these days - And don't know he wants to do the hard yards at prop.

I think with the game a bit quicker now and the dynamic of the backrowers, He might only be of use up front - is he an 800k prop? No, he's not.

That's why the Roosters might want to move him on....
I wouldn't be surprised to see him lose his spot in origin to a more dynamic type player.

I think you'll find there's more businesses than you think that heavily rely on each other in an even deeper capacity than not letting a try scored or making a tackle. Emergency services, the military, even trades heavily rely on each other for safety so they return home every day to see their families and even putting themselves on the line for people they don't even know. Don't make the NRL out to be something extraordinary.
I said not many. Obviously some of those you mentioned are similar if not more unique in their culture.

A massive difference with trades for example is the public spotlight the guys are under each time they perform their job. Tradesman risk life and limb for much less reward but they also have longer careers in general.

I am not downplaying the importance of any profession, merely pointing out that ‘culture’ is not a cookie-cutter term.

Nothing will change at the tigers until Madge is removed , he’s had 3 years and we have got worse each year and this looks like it could be even worse
You’ll have to do more than just sack the coach, sacking Madge alone isn’t gonna make us finals bound we also need to move on players that don’t want to be here or aren’t playing at all first two I would move on would be Brooks and Nofa the rest you can figure out from there whether to keep or let go but those 2 aren’t contributing to us at all not trying to make this into a sack Brooks and Nofa post but the money they are on for the performances they have delivered us over the years its been a joke Madge I don’t see sticking around not unless a miracle happens for him but sacking him along won’t change anything

If they are willing to offload him than he’s not worth pursuing Roosters don’t let those they want to let go keeping so unless something has happened with Angus and Roosters behind the scenes he’s not worth pursuing

When we went out and signed Austin, Taupau and Naiqama.... also Elijah Taylor, Gavet and JAC... this was smart recruitment.

Admittedly sometimes it fails - Lolohea, Rankin, Ballin, Blair, etc.

But we've got ourselves another dark horse in Starford To'a.

This is the only way forward because as others said, we are a loser club.

Build from within - with the likes of Guyan, OKane, Matanua, Brandon Manafield, Tumeth, Kautoga amongst others - that's the nucleus of an outstanding pack.

Mix in some experience and leadership (Guys like Api and iPap) and a few more... with guys like Tamou, Mikele, Luciano, Kelma, Garner and Offa all on the way and replaced with gold candidates to round out our pack.

And spine prospects of Camroux, Tannous, Rua, Madden and Douihei... maybe even Dillon... a leader like Jacko in the 7 role to guide them.

All that's missing is some serviceable outside back backs to strengthen the backline and we've already improved on the roster we currently have.

Do you think Camroux will be in the top 30 in the next 2 years. Maybe a replacememt for Brooks

Who knows with this club....

I thought Logen Dillon had a lot of promise and should've been fast tracked through cup ready for first grade in 2023 and the club has dropped him to Ron Massey Cup.

I've seen enough from Zane to know he has a lot of talent at his age and with the right development he could go on to be a successful first grader. At our club or another.

Not up to me tho.

We are about four rep players short or we’ll have more young blokes fall by the wayside in our losing culture.
