Jock Madden

Jock has looked adequate in his skill set he is just suffering from the same issue that Brooks does. All over the park we lack weapons that can change a game and generate a win out of thin air.
Jimmy the Jet looks ready for take off again. Some of the stuff he did on the weekend was a glimpse of form. He is at his best when he does the effort areas well. His specialty used to be jumping on a loose ball then running away to score.

Hope so. Can’t say I see it though. Four years past his use by date.

No doubt he tried last game but he looks far more like a Sopwith Camel than the origional Me 262 to me

The fuss that Madden is playing so well that Brooks won't have a spot is amusing. It s not as though the NRL is overrun with quality halves, which is amplified at WTs. We may have two good halves on our hands with Hastings capable as well I just enjoy the prospect of having some depth in a position where there is a short supply.

Wonder how peach would do in second row.
I reckon Peach still on the bench.
Musgrove did pretty good starting, 16 tackles no misses and 85m from 9 runs. However. He would be even better as impact off the bench. For that reason I’d go with Joffa at Prop to start.
My only concern with starting Hastings at lock is whether he has the engine to do so. I think his defence would be better in the middle, but question is does he have the work rate.
Against the Storm he only made 10 tackles and had 1 miss.
Against Newcastle he made 17 tackles and missed 3 with 4 ineffective.
Joe Off agaisnt Storm was 30 made 1 missed and 1 ineffective, and agaisnt Newcastle was 33 made, 4 missed.
42, 0 and 3 against the warriors and 30 made and 3 missed vs Titans.
Conversely little Jock has made 16 and 17 tackles with 1 missed from each game and an ineffective tackle against big Dave Fifita in the Titans game.
To add further complexity to our best setup. Liddle is essentially one of our best defenders this year with 63 tackles made 1 miss and 1 ineffective.

Hastings at 13

If this worked it would be great. It'd solve our 13 problem and give us a lot more creativity on the park.

One downside to me is firstly that will make us lighter in the middle.

The big problem I see though is Hastings looks to me like our best half and he should be running this team for us to be successful. Why not make the other guys fight it out for other positions on the park.

Yeah I don't think Peachy needs any excuses being Mr utility, I'd give him a starting role and he is not up for it get him ready in nsw cup.

I'd carry Jake simpkin as the second hooker.

Peachy needs accountability and to play tough. He's a tough kid can mix it with anyone.

14 role is not working. Put madge persist with it of course

I see Peach as a front foot player much like Brooks. Give them time and space and their speed off the mark is lethal. Anyone selling time and space?

Because he can’t really kick well. We need a DCE style kicking game to get us out of the quagmire and the only one remotely close is Madden.

I think Jock is looking every bit a first grader.

5 games in and he is getting better each game, plays with confidence and is involved more then most rookie halves.

His kicking and running game started to come through last night and he really looks like a half back that is worth sticking with.

I like him. Hope that last play doesn't affect his confidence.
Totally agree👍

Next time DCE kicks a 40/20 or finds the grass downfield, evaluate the hit up/run prior and the speed of the play the ball. It’s often Tapau or Jurbo. Our halves kicking game will only improve when we learn to play the power/ruck game better. Stef should be used for this purpose imo
