NRLW to get its first Transgender player next season -Updated

Respect for your opinion and not having a go at your faith, but as much as there is a question on whether there are really only two genders, is the question of whether there really is a God.
I have absolute respect for your question and opinion...It boils down to upbringing and education...I was raised in a Catholic environment and lived by the teachings of the Catholic church,I only knew mum and dad as parents mum looked after us as a mother and dad worked to feed and teach us to be young men...
There was no talk ever from my younger days that men could be women and women could be men...With new technology and teachings these days its easy to become confused by the world we live in....I have no problem if a person wants to Trans into somebody that they feel they need to be,to me its unnatural but completely their choice...
As far as I have been taught,we do have a heavenly Father and our saviour his son the Lord Jesus Christ...Same as with Islam they have Mohommed, its what they have been taught...
The 3 things I was always taught...HOPE..FAITH ...LOVE....
The greatest being LOVE....

That may be true. But it’s not the most important issue when it comes to transgenders
I’m not a social worker, psychiatrist etc. I cant help with that side of things, so let far more qualified people deal with that. My interest does lay in sport as it is my wheelhouse and I have skin in the game, therefore I find it important. Obviously others do as well, hence the creation of this thread.
Feel free to start your own thread to discuss what you think is important.

I have had my say in regards to this thread,it is purely opinion if its right or wrong..
I would like to stress that my post in no way was to turn this into a religious mockery or in your face opinion about my religion...
We all have different backgrounds with different teachings and philosophy,I respect each individuals opinion on religion or any other topic we may differ on...It all comes back to respecting each other and no one is better than the other....peace...

My observations are that there is as much of a body mass difference in NRLW as there is in the NRL. Those girls don’t miss when they hit up and I wouldn’t want to be on the end some of those tackles. I think if there is a transgender player in the NRLW, it wouldn’t be such a mismatch. There clearly needs to be rules and they need to be applied objectively. It’s a bias and perception thing to get over and unless you make space for it and see how it plays out you won’t ever know. I have a feeling some of those girls would want to rip in and muscle up.
You would be completely wrong saying that.
These big hits you raised are women on women. If a man was hitting them like that it would be dangerous. He would throw them around like Tallis did to Hodgson in that Origin years ago. It is lunacy to think they could compete.

Are you serious.
There is a guy who has tatts and looks like Steve Blocker Roach who puts on make-up and wears a skirt who frequents our local shops. His voice is deep.
Does that quality him as a transexual and use of female toilets? Where is the qualifying point.?
100%. If you identify, then you are. It’s crazy beyond belief. Thankfully new buildings all seem to scope the inclusion of gender neutral bathrooms which helps alleviate concerns in this area.

It's a very complex issue. If people are trans I have no issue with that, I imagine it's a frustrating and confusing life for those people to lead before and after they transition, adding to that the societal attitude toward them.

That being said I would have to think there would be some issues with trans women playing in a competition with women though. There's also the issue of forcing out cis women who have worked all their life to play the game only to have their spot taken by a trans woman. You would think that would be pretty demoralising. Physically big women by birth would be a rarity in the game, if a 6'6" 120kg trans woman wanted to play the game, the physical match up would be pretty skewed.

I don't know what the answer is, there are clear problems though. Give them their own league? I get sport is meant to be all inclusive and wouldn't like to see people excluded altogether but I wouldn't want to see people have a distinct physical advantage by way of nomination of gender.

This is the point I made earlier, why dont they form a sporting body of their own and compete against "their own"...that would clearly take all arguments for and against the whole argument..

Doesn't that leave that so called system open for abuse.
It would allow a lowlife devo to infiltrate the system and give the transgenders a bad name.
I'm so confused how this can happen.
It would only take one incident and it goes haywire.
People might think I'm silly when I said a brute of a man could put makeup on, wear a dress and then go to intimate female places.
What the?
Also this brute of a man with makeup on can play against women.
I feel for people and equal rights, but where is the equality in this proposal, what is the cut off point?
Who determines the level of femininity.
Lunacy.

You only have to watch America to see where it’s heading. There are serious activist pushes over there to cease gender categories for sport. The argument being everyone is
physically equal and as such all should compete together…I.e. male, trans, female and whatever else all in the same melting pot.
I pose the question…if that were to occur in RL for instance, what percentage of representation would you expect? I’d say 99.99% men and the other 0.01% trans women. All female athletes would have to go do something else.
A trans category is the fairest outcome but is there really enough of them to warrant it?

Because it's reported by some anonymous user whose delicate sensibilities are damaged. Didn't agree with stryker but didn't find his comment offensive. This has been a back to Willow moment.

Agree. I don't particularly enjoy NRLW, but I think if they want to continue to develop their form of the game and enhance popularity and earning capacity, it is imperative that trans gender players are not allowed.

It is difficult for a heterosexual male and an old fashioned dude who was raised in an era of gentleman and ladies to accept this idea.
Whilst I'm very much against it in everyway, shape or form, I won't be abusive to them.
As long as they respect me and my girls and don't encroach on 'their freedom' and rights.
