NRLW to get its first Transgender player next season -Updated

You only have to watch America to see where it’s heading. There are serious activist pushes over there to cease gender categories for sport. The argument being everyone is
physically equal and as such all should compete together…I.e. male, trans, female and whatever else all in the same melting pot.
I pose the question…if that were to occur in RL for instance, what percentage of representation would you expect? I’d say 99.99% men and the other 0.01% trans women. All female athletes would have to go do something else.
A trans category is the fairest outcome but is there really enough of them to warrant it?
If the transgender had their own comp and was supported by the nrl it would last a week because of numbers like you said. They would be rudiculed as well.
Do we really want to ridicule them.
I don't, but it simply wouldn't work. So don't do it.

How does it work in the change rooms, how does it work now in society with public toilets and change rooms?
Is there a chance a man dressed like a women can walk into a ladies toilet.
I'm not having a go at transexuals but I wouldn't like a man in my wife's, daughter's or grandchildrens change rooms or toilets.
From your comments you clearly don't understand the difference between being transgender and cross-dressing.

Please explain, I don't.
You won't get back to so this what I have read.
A transexual - someone who has their genitals altered, undergoes hormone treatment to alter the sex appearance and maybe get enhancements.
A transgender - someone who relates to the opposite sex more than their born state
Crossdresser - someone who fantasizes being a women or man for various reasons usually sexual.
So can you tell me how a heterosexual male can tell the difference.
As I said before who determines if there is an advantage to the transgender athlete and how does one determine whether a person walking into my girls change room is of what category.

You would be completely wrong saying that.
These big hits you raised are women on women. If a man was hitting them like that it would be dangerous. He would throw them around like Tallis did to Hodgson in that Origin years ago. It is lunacy to think they could compete.
All fair points. I would like to believe the NRLW would take all of that into consideration in their decision making. If they don’t, it would be a mistake to allow it to happen without proper due diligence.

What i don't understand is this,
When there are dozens of sports to choose from for these transmen, Rugby league would be the worst sport to choose because it is the heaviest contact sport of all sports, why are they choosing this sport?

They have and must continue to use strong medications, they have gone through and continue to go through major psycological changes and they have had lifechanging major surgeries,

Knowing all this you would think that they would avoid playing a heavy contact sport.

I think they have chosen the worst type of sport for themselves
.

When these transmen receive a heavy contact during play it could become an even more serious injury than what is normally expected,

And the opposite can be said about transmen, they too could cause heavy injuries on woman if their prescribed medications are not checked and controlled adequately that increases their estrogen and suppresses their testosterone levels which then would give them competitive advantages which then would mean they are not playing as transmen but they are men.

This is absurd. Sports are segregated based on biological sex, not gender identity for a reason. A trans woman may identify as a woman or female all they want but the scientific/biological reality is they are still a biological male. Two years of hormone treatment does not negate them having larger lungs, larger heart, higher number of fast twitch muscle fibres, high bone density/strength, narrower pelvis etc.

Theres are reason you don't see FtM transgender individual going on to dominate in males sports because biological sex is a reality. Sorry to break it all you people trying to be "allies".

No amount of virtue signalling from the clowns supporting this changes that and not only are you putting female athletes in danger, you're wiping your arse with all the work they've done to get where they are just so you can give yourself a pat on the back. It's pathetic.

I reckon Madge , sheensy and mr Mac will be keeping a close eye on this transgender player, if she shows more balls than 90% percent of our current nrl forwards, might get a train and trial nrl deal for 2023…………I know , I know , it was poor form couldn’t help myself.

Thankyou Stryker and others who have highlighted the negative impact it would have on females, especially in a contact sport.

I'd be absolutely petrified to run the ball at or tackle a player if they were a 6 foot transgender woman. Regardless if they had reassignment surgery or not they'd be still at a physical or biological advantage.
Not to sound discriminatory but no offence there's just not enough education around this topic.
Also, where's the duty of care? How do you even begin with some stuff to ensure safety in an already physical sport?

Not to sound discriminatory but no offence it would no longer be a female only sports and has the potential to deter females from participation.
Where's the duty of care?
Also what if they didn't have surgery, how would a woman feel or continue (to play) if their opponent's nuts fell out or are exposed? In a supposedly female competition.
I love it when you post Lauren....straight to the point and no in between...pardon the pun....😡😵

100% correct

The argument to be made is that the high amounts of estrogen and testosterone blockers , mean that the strength divide is negligible ….. except this doesn’t take into account bone density and muscle memory , as well as biologically these people have lived as men for the most part , through puberty and beyond .

It’s akin to EPO blood doping . Guys/girls train at high altitude remove that oxygenated blood , and have blood transfusions at optimal times . Like day 5 of the Tour de France .
They do this because of the advantage they gained previously .
Is it fair that these trans people can’t compete …. For the trans people , I guess it kind of isn’t … except 99.9% of the people in any competition they’re in arnt trans . Is it fair that they get to the edge of the female capacity , to then have to compete against , to be fair , a biological male who has been neutered , for lack of a better word .
You can’t punish the many to cater to the few , no matter how hard the conversation is . Is it fair ? No it probably isn’t , but life’s not fair .

You can be generally supportive of the issues transgender people encounter and still have a nuanced opinion on why you believe this is not a good idea. The only real equaliser is a trans league where trans athletes can participate.

Elsie Albert would sort him out👍

Elsie Albert.
All I'm seeing as a female and a male Christian name.
Then the photo.
Then it's close enough to April 1st.
I tried singing Barry White in my head to see if it would help. The Barry White voice in my memory refused to sing a note until I took the photo off the screen.
And now, in a state of confusion, I'm off for a good hit of bourbon.
To quote Stan from Southpark . . . ." dude, this is pretty xxxxxx up right here"
