Who Would Make It

Exactly. Good players make ordinary players better. And exactly why we can't attract players who want to succeed to our club when we don't have key players that inspire others to want to play with them.
Good post mate.

We are like the spare parts club of the competition. Clubs just pick off our guys to fill gaps in their squads, give them some chance to play finals, and for the most part in stronger teams they go ok.
If only we could hit a restset button to attract marquee forwards and backs especially the spine.
Unfortunately we always find ourselves doing one change at a time. Either with the front office or our the team.
When we have gone out to get those good players they ended up either injured or duds.... don't get me started there.
When Sheens was given more control of football performance and we signed a couple of quality players for 2023 I thought, this is not going to be enough.
I've been saying it for months now. We need more quality players.
Instead we find ourselves losing good players, we're going backwards again.
The only thing that will save us is more signings and for some talent to come through like Rua.

Remember a while back when a swap deal was on with Melbourne and they asked for Tommy Talau. Tigers wouldn't do it.
Makes you realise that a club like the storm could see a potential in one of the tigers young guys and they knew they could develop him into something better.
Good point. The debate around our players performances normally lands in 3 areas:
1. they have a lack of talent
2. they don't care
3. the coach has not been able to get the best out of them.
My take in our case is it is mainly 2 and 3, with 2 happening often as a loss of belief in the coach's direction, tactics or manner. I too wonder how blokes like Talau, Nofo, Brooks, Liddle, Laurie- even Twal would be performing at clubs with excellent coaches and systems. I acknowledge Stefano and Leiluia have really come on as players under Madge, but the majority have gone backwards. The results over the last 3 years and especially this year attest to this.

I have no clue why he doesNT get more time......we need a nutter, he is one, put the kid on the field mADGE!!
Maybe they're bringing him a long slowly cos they know he's got something special.

Might be a big year for him next year.

Either way, he looks the goods.

Absolutely agree.
Maybe Madge doesn't want him to get infected by others attitude and slack performance 🤔
He's one player who would be a gun in a top side.

I haven't read all the comments on here but Seyfarth is a goer. I'd have him in the team every week and he deserves more minutes.

Hastings to me is a quality player as well.

Luc is clearly quality. Kelma is pretty good as well although he has to perform for a season or two.

Doueihi is great.

Joe O has been class this year. Stefano is really good. Musgrove has been good as well.

I like our forward pack. It's not great but there is plenty to like.

6. Adam Doueihi
7. Jackson Hastings

8. Stefano Utoikamanu
9.
10. Alex Seyfarth
11. Kelma Tuilagi
12. Luciano Leilua
13. Joe Ofahengaue

14. Zane Musgrove

You could build a decent team around those guys.

Yeah, can see a bit of Nelson or Prime Era JWH to his game... and he's still only young.

Big future ahead for big red, the Lebanese Viking.

Forwards arent the major problem, although they wld significantly benefit from a genuine leader..like Packer/Tamou were recruited for ,but didnt deliver
Its the backs that are the problem...everyone outside Hastings is marginal at best...Douhi/Talua and AJ included, tho they all have the ability to make it under the right coach.
Madden and Stanford need more time before concluding, but both have potential
Which brings us to the core issues...1,2 and 5....need more commitment, better defence and a lot more speed
Cant believe how Kenny and Nofa have regressed.at least .until the next contract renewal..

To highlight how bad our roster and depth is, how many players in our current squad would make a new club.
The only Wests Tigers I would choose are Stefano and possibly AD.
That sound pretty dramatic but if you went through every position, there are better players out their.
In essence, apart from Stef, we do not have any marquee players.
Next year we get 2 in Kori and Papa, that will make 3 top players.
Practically every other club has us covered in this scenario.
The reason we are struggling atm is because of our poor roster imo.

Every player in our roster would make any new clubs b team 😉

Nofo has been pretty bad for a while. I reckon Ken has been better and he has had a couple of shockers.

I can't believe Nofo got a top dollar long term contract.

Yep that's close to what I would pick in your scenario.
You add in there a Papenhuyzen, Haas, Koroisau, Papali'i, Yeo and Joey Manu and you could win a premiership.

Ken is busted and overweight, he'll come good.
Noffa, when he stops posing for the cameras and pulls his finger out is our best attacking player. He's the only one who looks dangerous when he's on his game.
Roberts is another one. When he's running fast he can break D apart. He is either busted or playing in a disjointed team.

You are right. I just don't see how he is worth the top dollar. Our spine is terrible and we are paying an average winger top dollar.

Still JAC would be on a fair bit more.
What gives you the impression he’s on top dollar?
