Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Api is on $700k for two years plus one year MO.
Papali'i is $600k for three years.

By that Nikora is a $500k player. Offer an extra year to sure it up. Otherwise, I think Blore could also come good.

If true we got Papa for a great deal all things considering given what other clubs are spending on backrowers currently.....

Open market drives the value of the player.

We can't bank on Blore, he hasn't played a full season of footy since before Jersey Flegg age.

1 player would love to snare would be Walsh, the kid has something we drastically need and is performing for a team lacking alot of options as well. He is going to be something special in a few years.
Yes please! Though I doubt we have much of a shot with Broncos and Dolphins being pretty keen.

How much would we have to pay to get him?

He's got talent that's for sure. Can we develop him though?
He's good against broken field play.
I can't remember what game it was but it was against a top side and they smothered him.

To get him you're paying on potential not current talent, it would cost us ALOT.
His style of player amongst guys like Pap and Api are stark contrast to our entire squad. I think we need to splash whatever it takes to slowly bring in these kind of players, and hope their influence/presence leads to improvement in some of the individuals we currently have, because lets face it, our most senior players are really not players to be looking up to.

100% he has speed, is a support & link player with a good kicking game as well.
We drastically lack speed & players who can create something out of nothing.

Madden & Laurie I really don't have it - this kid is 19 and into his 2nd NRL year as well.
He will only get alot better

I pray one day Warriors foward Curran becomes available and we snap him up.
For an average build guy he has a huge motor and is my mainstay in NRL Fantasy Coach.
Mancrush Koori 🤣

This. If we're going to change the lazy player culture here, we need these sort of players. Whatever Walsh is offered by Broncos or Dolphins, offer that + plus whatever Laurie is making and him tell to take his scooter and piss off. Done with lazy players at this club.

When one of our five captains watches the ball go over the sideline while making little to no effort to get to it, your team has a problem

Batman Kyrgios - Laurie was one of our best last season, very safe under the high ball and dangerous with the ball. I see you're still trying the Aztec-two step with your posts.

I’m sure his management has told the Knights the tigers are interested.
Quality journalism by Dean Ritchie...

Aside from Redcliffe, it would appear no other club has the money – nor desire – to shell out more than $1m a year for Ponga. Maybe Wests Tigers could show an interest.

Unfortunately nothing that I feel is worth sharing at this point in time. Sheens has taken control of all player movement (with consultation from Madge) and does not share too much. However, based on how the club has operated previously, this is a good thing. Rather than just going after anyone that is available, it finally looks like they are intentionally targeting players of need - much like the acquisitions of Api and Papalii. It's a waiting game at this point to see who comes available before the June deadline and at the end of the season.
Who has he taken control from? In the past it seems that Chairman Lee, Pascoe, Hartigan & Madge have all been credited/condemned for our recruitment.

Who let Tuilagi walk?
