Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Up the offer for Nikora he’s a superior edge back rower than Bird. Farnworth would be a smarter play at centre.

Would LOVE Herbi but feel the love bug won't be leaving QLD anytime soon.

Nikora I wouldn't offer more than we have, apparently it's 200k + extra year more than the Sharks offer already and it's between us and them. But agree he would be a better backrower for us than Bird.

I would be looking to movie Douhie on and stick with Hastings and Brooks and Madden as depth
Go use the cash to find a gun centre or fullback
Harsh call.
I’d be looking at transitioning him to a lock starting this year in the 14 when he returns.
Next year our right side centre into right side back row and finally once he can get through 80mins on an edge I’d move him into the ruck. Wade Graham made a similar transition and was equally if not more talented as a half.

100k less for an extra year?
Why would anyone sign for that?
I wouldn't sign him for 3 years. If he was a specialist backrower or back at the top of their game maybe.
I want a side built in stability. We are starting to get that now.
If we need a to stiffen up our second rower I would prefer Nikora to someone who's not settled and with a busted arm.
I think big red Seyfarth is starting to get more game time. He might blossom and be the solution.
He certainly has his heart in the right place but he's still raw and needs to learn the ropes.
I would like to find a big bopper to partner Stef and Musgrove.

I love Seyfarth's passion but we must look past that and do what's best for our roster.

How high do we honestly see Seyfarth ceiling becoming?
He isn't a ball player and he is totally ineffective hitting the ball up. Overtime they can develop but if a rep quality player comes knocking (his manager from the report approached us) then we would be dumb not to entertain it. It's a clear upgrade.

Seyfarth is 23 + Signed for next year already, he is a long way behind the impact Bird who just turned 27 would give us. Bird has 3yrs easy in him, end of his contract he would be 30-31. Bird will get another contract after this one. If we want our team to be better Bird/Nikora at Backrow over Seyfarth will make us stronger hands down.

In saying that right now Bird as a centre would be my preferred option provided we snare Nikora unless Papa is signed as a prop partner for Stefano.

When Bird played for Sharks he threw himself at the oposition and his frame wasn't that big.
He then left and failed to reclaim that form and intensity. He then started to get injuries.
Now at Saints I've noticed he's bulked up for a edge roll.
No he's busted his arm.
I'm sorry mate but if it looks, walks and sound like a duck....
I just don't like it.
I'm sure your going to convince me 🤣

Bird played 22 games last year & 7 this year... just saying.
Any-who that's ok lets keep the belief in our mediocre players and battle for the spoon to 9th spot

Ok, you've won me.
Let's chat about this another time.
I've got to stop saying that because one day I'm going to be bombarded with so many I told you so's. The thing is noone tells me I'm right when I've forgotten about it. 🤣

He’s been out for awhile, but AD is one of our best players, and will probably relish the time and space he is going to receive from the new halves.

Unless the rot sets in, Madge won’t touch the halves and will tinker elsewhere.

I am still a bit mystified where we have found all this energy in recent games, so far as I can see, the resolution in the halves seems to have had significant positive flow on effects throughout most of the side.

Still a critical fullback issue without Laurie.

Moving up the table pretty rapidly has been nice. 97% completion. Amazing how that gives a side a fighting chance.

And there’s a long way to go in the season, but I definitely see threat from in our attack.

Having AD back and looking for a spot for him is a nice first world footy problem. So far as I recall, he’s a big asset and he must play as soon as he can stand up. His kicks in play are valuable. Each side genuine attacking options.
