Bird did play 22 games last year - but he played 8 in 2018, 9 in 2019, and 0 in 2020.
He has done his left acl twice (2019 and 2020)
I don't think he is worth the risk when we have AD, AJ and Talau yet to play after long term injuries

He would only be depth for us and he would want a starting role, plus his defence is very poor, good in attack I’ll give him that but not a good defender, highly doubt we’ll sign him to be a starting fullback

Yeah his D has improved last few weeks. Heard him speak after last week's game spoke really well. Noted had a shoulder injury in preseason and behind the 8 ball. Took him a couple weeks to get back into it which fair enough but have seen improvement. Agree would still like to see how he goes against a top team tho

That’s a fair assessment if he plays when Cows are facing Panthers or Storm or Roosters I’ll see how he goes then

We aren’t moving Doueihi on he’ll be in the 17 each week when he returns, fans love him, players love him and the coaches and upstairs love him too, he will be kept

He's the best centre at the club. Needs work on his defence but still the best.

Yeah I guess him and Laurie have similar ability Laurie prob a bit better in D.

But Laurie can find an injury so need a drinkwater calibre of player for cover.

Bird on a 3 year deal on $500k is too much of a risk. elite talent but unfortunately has been hampered with injuries since he came into grade. doesn't sound like Garner's staying around but I'd rather him re-signed at a fraction of the price with a better defensive output. no doubt Bird can play, but he's lucky to play 10 games a season.

I'm not in favour of going after Jack Bird, when Penrith have too many good young players off contract that we could try to sign. Unless they take less money to stay with Penrith, I can't see them being able to retain Crichton, Liam Martin, To'o & Tago all at the club. Bird has had his fair share of injuries during his career & not worth the cap hit.

Where playing 600k below the cap because we struggle to attract talent to the club there is very few decent back row options left on the market for next year bird is the best option I’d take him for sure a back row pairing of papali and bird is very solid they both play the 80 minutes
