Bird staying with Dragons. Via DT
It is understood the Dragons guaranteed two years for Bird worth about $1.1 million with a mutual option for Bird and the club to commit for a third season. It was enough for Bird to take up the offer.

The Tigers refused to commit themselves publicly to chasing Bird but at the very least held informal discussions about signing the premiership winner. They too were reluctant about agreeing to a third season.

keep in mind Lids and Simpkins have been told to look elsewhere which might free up a couple spots.

false !!! they have told lids to look elsewhere however the club view simpkins as the long term 9 & are eager for him to be Api's understudy for the next 2 years

I do feel sorry for lids, remember him coming thru and what an exceptional talent, destined for great things, then the injuries started.
And recently how could you forget that full length of the field try when he found another gear to score in the corner, wow!

also that chase down against souths the other week !! maybe if he packs on a bit of size he could be a ball playing 13? I personally think his distribution out of dummy half can be shocking sometimes & also very slow. His running game can be dangerous at times which is why he could go alright at 13.

Yep that's not a bad thought, I'd love to see that, he's a loyal kid. He'd definitely have to get those shoulders beefed up and his skinny legs 😀

Trouble is his highlights belong on a fullback’s reel. Hooker is about way more than highlights.
