Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sharks might have just shot themselves in the foot signing Nikora for that they have a lot of solid players off contract the next 2 years that 1.7 mill is gonna haunt them down the line
I say good luck also trying to retain Wade Graham and Andrew Fifita who are also on big dollars.
I hope it comes back to bite them in the ass.

Ex-Wigan Warriors star Jackson Hastings makes shock future admission

Ex-Wigan Warriors and Salford Red Devils star Jackson Hastings has dropped a future hint.

The halfback has impressed greatly under Wests Tigers head coach Michael Maguire after returning to the NRL following almost four years in Super League.

And, Hastings wants to retire under the former Wigan boss.

“I’d love to play for Madge for the rest of my career. Ideally that would be at Tigers with him coaching here for a number of years and me playing under him,” Hastings told the Daily Telegraph.

“He’s taught me a lot both on and off the field. He holds a special place in my heart, so does this club.

“I’m fiercely loyal to people loyal to me. I’ve learned over time that people that give you time, respect and effort, you have to pay that back.

“And Madge is one of those people and this club is one of those organisations. I’ll definitely do the right thing by the club, I’ll listen to offers. It would be ideal to stay here and build combinations.”

I'm not sure if this has been posted... But I am just loving the passion and high regard this guy is showing. I enjoy how he backs his teammates, coach and the club! Fantastic Stuff...

Having all that extra cash hasn't amounted to much for us in the last few. We have jagged maybe 2 targets out of 20?
We need to get rid of the taint associated with us.
Better coach maybe?
Utoikamanu and Laurie have been two really good buys. Kepaoa now he is over his injuries I believe will come on well, the same for Toa. I'd like us to continue buying these players on the cusp, especially those from the clubs with good junior development systems. If we can't get the big ones, we should buy the next big ones.

We gotta keep targeting players who are ready but are stuck in nsw cup for whatever reason people like Topine, Pele , Hopgood and nail one big fish like Angus

They'd have paid well for Rudolph
Finucane 800
Nikora 650
McIness 500
Graham be on 7-800 Surely...

Big money....
Someone will be squeezed out.

OFF CONTRACT OUTSIDE BACKS 2022
Euan Aitken,
Jack Bird,
Taylan May
Tom Opacic
Isaiah Tass
Herbie Farnworth
Josh Mansour
Corey Oates
Jaxson Paulo
OFF CONTRACT BACKROWERS 2022
Briton Nikora
Angus Crichton
Adam Elliott
Ryan Matterson
Wade Graham
Matt Doorey

If being serious about making us stronger and building to play finals football Herbi, Crichton, Nikora should be the recruitment hitlist.

May and Oates would improve us but could only happen if Ken is on the outer
Ken has 1 more year left with us. Being realistic if Madge won't pick them ahead of Ken (he won't pick ahead of Nofa) then it's wasted $$$. May could play centre but geez on the wing has been really effective which looks to be his best position, much like it's Oates position.

Tass looks ok in his early games NRL wise, hasn't had easy opponents either and held up ok

Graham - is a signing we normally would do - last legs contract - stay away
Doorey - I don't get the love for him, is he really better than what we have (Blore/Kane etc)
Matto - not after what happened with him and his lawn mower mate garlic sauce, he is also 1-2 head knocks away from a forced retirement.
Elliott - Prefer Aitken

Nikora’s management contacted all involved clubs that he will remain at Cronulla last night.
Euan Aitken wants 450k a year & the club has moved on from him at this point.
Angus Crichton now a main focus.
Taylan May is the clubs number 1 outside back target for 2023.
Kade Dykes appears all but done for 2023, talks discussed about him being out 30th spot for 2022 continuing

Thanks mate keep us posted on dykes if you can.

Fifita off contract this year I'd reckon...
His knee is no good I hear - Can't see him going round again.

Graham... He's their captain?
