Refereeing destroying the Game

It’s just a really poorly timed run by Seyfarth. At no point was he ever fooling anyone with that run. Simply get out of the way and you won’t cost your team a try, or run it properly!
Your on the money mate, there shouldn't be any excuses for that. How many times do you think they run those plays at training.

ANNESLEY only addressed issues concerning top 4 teams . Does that mean
Tigers were treated fairly by the ref and bunker .Madge the silence is deafening . Your supporters are losing heart as you can't win on a non level playing field .
Starter his presser by trumpeting 3 games this weekend. Guess which teams? The dope.

Ive said this before but I like emphasize it again.
The video ref/bunker should only be used when the ref cant see the action.
The ref sees everthing at normal speed and so should the video ref.
The point is if you slow down the play frame by frame too many times you are second guessing yourself and practically influenced by the technology.
If at normal speed if it looks like there is downward pressure without separation then give the bloody try.
If the viewer is seeing it a normal speed then there is a greater chance that all will agree with the decision.
There is also the human element.
Lets not be controlled by machines. We have survived alright without them in the game for a long long time and now we are constantly complaining about them.

That’s not true.
Didn’t he address the comments made from members of the lower teams about the speculated refereeing preference when playing the top 4 teams.

The NRL need to explain why this is okay, but not the Kepaoa try. Walsh gets the ball on the inside shoulder of Tevaga, runs behind him, then gets through the line.

No player obstructed in this play. I get that To'a received the ball on the inside shoulder of Seyfarth, but how come one instance is okay to run behind a player, but another it's not?

Seyfarth is deemed a lead runner and is in a position to distract the defence.
Tevanga is essentially a dead player at the line.

Agree Seyfarth should have timed his run better as in the South's game.

But surely the softest example of this type all year. Couldn't see it enforced in a final.

After holding them out early a hit back try means we go on and win as usually happens 9 out of 10.

Anyway our boys have to get their plays right.

But we still made less errors then the officials.

Every single game, every team gets a crap call or two, I can live with that. What I can’t stand is when a ref and his mate in the box focus on one team and last week was a perfect example.
How can the touch judge, the guy in the box and the ref all not see Turbo grab our no1 and pull him back. Okay he probably was not going to score, but it is a professional foul every day of the week.

How could Manly clear the ruck in about one second but our clearances were about five seconds..yet we are the team punished for slowing down the ruck.

Annesley is the main problem the game faces, he needs to be accountable…but it’s the NRL don’t expect anything to happen

I would disagree with that especially in regards to the winners not readily apparent.I have never in my life seen the results so easy to pick (i am 69).For the 2nd year in a row i am leading the tipping comp on the NRL website for this forum and i won it last year.
My formula is very simple i just look at the referee/bunker and pick the team i believe they will favour. It is a very sad state of affairs
nice.

Seyfarth's decoy was fine, he angled inwards, did not intervene and cleared through without incident. As has been a pattern, it was To'a's sweep that wasn't crisp, he was too deep and not lateral enough, only a metre of each, but that's the difference between a try and not.

Not surprising though considering his lack of experience at fullback and as a second-man play pivot.

Happy with the video ref to adjudicate on the following only:
- grounding
- touchline
- captain's call
- offside
- reportable offence

I actually feel the game isn't that complicated. The obstruction calls are so hard to adjudicate because the whole point of Rugby League is to stay behind the ball but with second man plays, it's becoming harder.

The outside/inside shoulder is such BS. I completely agree that the lead runner can obstruct a defender who is going for the man receiving the ball, but these days defenders run sideways to GET obstructed (like Moses the cat). If the lead runner is in the direct line of path between the defender and the 2nd man, then an obstruction should be called regardless of inside/outside shoulders.

Again, a video ref cannot decide that with slo-mo, the ref decides that on the field.

Some ridiculous rulings on obstructions when a defender is not impeded in anyway by an attacking team player and is so far away from the potential try scorer that there is no physically possible way that they could have participated in stopping the try being scored.

This is especially true when the so called obstructed defender is 3 or 4 players away from the action and the only thing impeding them would actually be their own team mates.

At some stage some basic common sense must surely be applied. I know that they claim to be trying to make it a black and white ruling but at some stage something that is physically impossible has to be taken into account to dismiss an obstruction ruling.

Hmmmmm.. I watched the Manly game again to check the Kapaoa no TRY.. My suspicions were correct.. yes To'a received the ball inside the lead runner however he passed it before going behind the Lead Runner ..that is allowed... in fact in general play you see it 20 to 30 times a game where the receiver passes behind the decoy runner... never ever penalised..

The Blunder Bunker got it wrong surprise surprise... Crickets from Mr Anusely

So why Añnesley not address this ? Is it because no noise from tigers coaching staff. I also noticed that the manly defenders ignored the lead runner .their gaze never left the ball carrier and receiver .Check the stats on Atkins last year we copped some frightful hidings in penalty count last year in games he was on field ref. Cant remember which games one maybe a Parramatta game

Out of all the refs. Atkins just out right pss’ me off. He just has an absolute arrogance about him and gives no one the time of day. Except maybe the high profile players. He just looks angry in every camera shot.

I see Adamski is reduced to a touchie on Sunday .Don't think its for the Luciano "no try " a few weeks ago .Maybe because he gave us more penalties than the opposition next time he reffed us .That's not done!
