Refereeing destroying the Game

I go back to how many games were impacted at the start of the season with the constant set restarts and the head high foul play sin binnings and penalties. Then all of sudden it stopped. As a spectator and a supporter of the game it farcical and makes you really question the legitimacy of those who are making the decisions.

**The Game of NRL in general has become a disaster.**

The scrum descission is ridiculous so much so the commentators are baffled.

**Im.livid**

I am growing to hate the game and no longer watch the other non tigers games whilst in years past would watch every game every round.

Garbage from the Refs and even worse from the bunker.

Destroying the game I once loved.

Had to dig this Thread out.

The volume of incompetence in the refereeing on the field and the Bunker is destroying the Game.

Some of these decisions are glaringly wrong and are affecting games and clubs.

I couldn't agree more - we have this thing when we watch the games if that was a WT try - "the Wests Tigers didn't score that, they would look for something so they couldn't give us the try or hold on! of course it's not the WT so they just award it" I hate the games now

It is not just us who gets shafted but it always one of the non favoured clubs who do.It is pure bias and borderline corruption

My two pet hates are the obstruction rule and the bunker in general, nrl is a game of metres not millimetres, so if a player has a portion of his boot on the sideline when scoring a try and the touchie does not put his flag up, so what, what goes around comes around so if they stuck to this method and retired the bunker, most clubs, players and fans would be happier.
The obstruction rule I won’t discuss on here - too much swearing forthcoming

I hate to bag refs because it is not a job I would do at that level.

But I think there is a distinct lack of understanding from referees at the moment for actually playing the game in the junior years or at a reasonable level. Some things you just 'know' when they happen and what to look for.... but I feel the current referees just dont have that thought process.

EDIT - The obstruction rule is perfect example. You just know if someone is genuinely obstructed, likely to be obstructed, taking the piss etc.

It is so obvious, I believe it is corruption by the refs,

But, The fish stinks from the head,

Graham Annesley,
And while this person is in charge of the refs, then nothing will change for the better and we will not see a fair, level playing field.

The Bunker looking for reasons to take a try away from a team is aggravating,

as well as slowing the reply so far from normal time to justify "Separation".

There was no separation.

No clear grounding by Aloiai.

No reason for one-way sin bins, let alone Stef.

Ruck was lopsided all day.

Tom committed a professional foul. It was shown. The Asu Kepoa NO TRY was marginal.

That’s a total of 12-18 points. That is the game right there and this buggery needs to stop!

Agreed there were lots of rubbish but the Aloiai one went up as try so the bunker has to have conclusive evidence to overturn. I just hope the ref ( who seemed close) saw something that made him send it up green.

In saying that, the bunker had no issues overturning wests try's so who knows. #Puntrefs

Mate, Kelma conclusively lost it apparently when only one hand was removed from ball, Peachey denied when it was clearly torso grounding and no separation at all.

I’m a little down on myself for thinking this way but here goes..
I honestly think V’Landys has had to make some concessions to get the broadcasting deals over the line.
It has involved giving referees more control to enforce rule changes which make for a more exciting, faster game. A game in which the outcome is not readily apparent. The extra teams mean more viewers and a spread of talent which also supports a more even competition.
Coaches have contributed to this evolution by relentlessly pushing the envelope.
The “fairytale” ending is big in the NRL as it was at Brookvale oval on Saturday. Three brothers playing together for the first time at their home ground?

I would disagree with that especially in regards to the winners not readily apparent.I have never in my life seen the results so easy to pick (i am 69).For the 2nd year in a row i am leading the tipping comp on the NRL website for this forum and i won it last year.
My formula is very simple i just look at the referee/bunker and pick the team i believe they will favour. It is a very sad state of affairs

I was just thinking of that titans game with the Madden boggle, god damn 2 points just like that huh. Warriors with the luciano grounding zzzzzz 2 more wins at this point would of been great for the teams morality

This is many , many. Supporters . The Suttons and their garbage refereeing standards have killed the nrl . The sooner that system is booted back to wherever on qld that family came from , the sooner the nrl can find some semblance of integrity .
It’s the most rigged sport due to officiating I watch . The NBA has its moments , less so the nfl and football. Baseball has an umpire who only has a job because he took the MLB to court for racism , because they tried to fire him he’s soo incompetent.
But the nrl is THE number one sport for what the actual referee decisions .

I understand the rule and the reason they made it black and whiten, because of the farce it used to be , but how you can call obstruction of a defensive line , where the lead runner runs through the line and is picking daisies on the tryline 10m behind the ply , is ridiculous.
Should seyfarth have run to his own tryline , because of little the defence cared about him ? It was a pointless line offering nothing .
I thought they only looked at it when the defence actually made contact with the attack ?

Someone in that referee team including the bunker had 1k on manly 12 plus , if not all of them !
