Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

There's been a few mentions on here on re-signing Tamou past this year. IMO that would be a massive mistake, around this time last year we were all lamenting his signing after his underwhelming performances. Now after a couple good games from 10 he's deserving of an extra year?

Let's not forget its an off contract year for him as well, unlike Ofahengaue who's taken up his option for next year and playing his guts out.
Pretty sure Tamou was looking to retire anyway so I don't buy into that he's just playing for a contract. I reckon he was carrying an injury of some sort last year as this year's form is back to his usual

It will be how much we pay for him. I think if we can get him on a low-wage deal, he'd be great.

Thanks mate, can you break those two words down further, still none the wiser, how do you know 🤣 I'm sure I'm from a different planet or been stuck in a big black hole 🤪

Roosters are unable to keep Angus all together our time to swoop
We resigned Stef, got Api and Papa, but it's not enough, it's never enough for the old tiges.
When are we ever going to nail quality players when we need them.
Unless we can nail a player like Angus or similar it will be that familiar tune pumping at the end of the year.

I thought Keary signed for cheap tho? Gee these roos are a joke
When they sign them it’s a good deal, good business, always less then the murmured amount and always most certainly less than 1m dollars.
When they look to release them though.
It’s another story entirely.
Pearce went from a respectable 600k-700k a year taking unders to the Roosters clearing 1 million off their cap when they moved him on.
Pretty sure Keary resigned for just under 800k. I’m not surprised when they are talking about making room that he is on 1.3m.
This is my theory.
And I would most definitely apply to the Roosters.
Clubs get public about ‘salary cap struggles’ to well make it publicly known that they need more cash.
Third parties catch on and are keen to see the roosters continue on their winning ways and also want to do whatever they can to ensure a player like Hass or Munster can fit under the salary cap when it’s required.
Currently Angus is the only player without a contract for next year.
The roosters are making this noise to either get support to resign him or let others know his availability.
