This is the problem with Brooks. He is one of our better players consistently and he doesn't get injured.

He isn't that good though. We've been a crud team.

I view Laurie the same way. He was great last year and was another one of our top performers.

The question is are these the guys to take us from cellar dwellers to threatening to win the comp ?

I'm not sold on Brooks or Laurie in the team longer term. We want to win the comp.

Laurie is up for contract renewal move him on for someone better then like S Crichton or Cobbo

that also works in reverse, let Hastings and Brooks have a good crack at 6 and 7 too though

I basically agree but it's not that simple. AD is coming back from a big injury. Brooks and Hasting are playing reasonably well.

Angus Crichton - State of Origin regular, back to back premierships in a star studded team. A regular top performer in all teams. Has had a few average games this year. Possibly 800k price tag.

Luciano Leilua - Played a game for Samoa, is regularly one of the laziest players on the field, has played a few good games this year and has a 700k price tag.

Kepaoa hasn’t played a game of NRL at centre - not 1…

Somehow he’s all of a sudden a given - and going to save us.
He can’t barely catch the ball, and when he does - he does something stupid with it

Did you see him put Garner away last week ? Sure he was named on the wing but he had Garner outside of him and put him away beautifully.

I'm pretty sure he played centre just before he was injured as well.

Same as To'a. These guys look good and they are on a lot less then AD or Brooks.

In all seriousness this to me is the big upgrade position in our team. I'd love either of those but Cobbo is a gun and so likable.

I'd love a kid like that in our team.

I like Laurie as well. He seems like a good guy to me. I'm just not sure if he has the talent to be say Dylan Edwards level and we need that.

If we have a clear 3yr plan as Sheens/Madge have spoken about then it is actually relatively simple.

With the volume of current players coming off contract this and next year they will already know which ones they want to keep, which ones they may keep and ones they want gone.

They have already shown intent with Liddle and a bunch of our forwards.

No way do we keep AD, Hastings, Brooks & Madden as halves past next year at the latest.
The fact Brooks has been moved from halfback (after Madge said he would play rep footy a few weeks before) and was also moved into hooker role gives an indication he is in trouble roster wise.

Sure the combo is playing reasonably well but if we don't win then it won't last. Reasonably well just won't cut it. We have the Bulldogs and Souths next, both should be wins based off how we performed the last few weeks and the opposition form mixed with more time as the combo gels

Have you seen him play recently?
Hes dead set struggling to retain his bench spot with the roosters.

He was the 2nd best backrower last year after Pap. The roosters halves have not got decent ball to the the 2nd rowers all year. Look at Toupinua who is also a shadow of how he was last year.

It's not just about the money. It's about adding a high profile rep player in Thier prime to our side. Other players will come.

Wanting - getting and havin are all very different things unfortunately
