Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

9 Players have had deals put to them from the Wests Magpies Harold Matthews team & 6 from the Balmain team (will confirm names shortly) I saw someone mention Captain Jordan Miller had joined the Dolphins, this isn't 100% sealed but not looking good, club has come in with a counter offer but Dolphins is certainly too good to be true type deal for the young man.
Miller hurts for sure but the main thing is that we're looking to retain the majority of that side.

Galvin, Keppie, Mason, Da Silva, Colquhoun, Craig and the Laulilii brothers are crucial to our long term success.

Thanks for the info. Just a query- I know its a quick summary from you but were Pele's managers dismissive or polite in their informing the club? As is sounds dismissive. Just trying to figure out if that is one of the many player managers who dismiss WT. Thats a hurdle we have to overcome.
Great discussions from Pele's management but they wanted to see if we would match other offers & we declined.

Based on magic round the two players we have signed for next year if available at this minute clubs would be falling over themselves to secure them. If by some miracle we can secure another quality signing it would be the best year in recruiting on paper in the clubs history.

Burton is definitely an interesting option to consider going forward, especially if he doesn't exercise his option. Brooks' money frees up at the end of 2023 so we could roll a good amount of that into Burton. Burton and Hastings could be a very good pairing on opposite sides of the field. I feel Burton's struggled a bit having to play more first receiver at the Dogs, stifling his running and ball playing. Having someone like Hastings run the show and let Burton focus on his kicking and running game would be huge.

It's essential we put Doueihi in the 6 as soon as possible and Brooks in the 14 to see if there's long-term potential in that. If Doueihi + Hastings works, great. If not, then we could have a ready made 6 to step in and shift Doueihi to the centres.

Massive risk throwing silly money at a kid who is the biggest on the park at junior level. There is a lot of history that tells you, plenty come back to the field as they go up the grades.

Not saying he is not worth trying to keep, but it’s risky business throwing over the odds at young kids

He's a star ita a sure thing

Miller news ridiculous, where is the loyalty
150k a year is huge money to a 17 year old kid. It's a balls out move from the Dolphins. Running over the top of 16/17 year olds doesn't necessarily mean it will happen in the NRL otherwise we'd be fondly recalling the Matt Groat NRL domination. For a playmaker maybe you roll the dice but wow it's a bold move to spend that on a Harold Matthews prop.

I'd do the same
Very disappointing for the pathways dropped the ball
