Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

@Lee's fedora when will you confirm a signing for us.
Balmain "legend" . . . mate, you really come across as a massive sooking Karen.
LF may well be full of BS. He may well get stuff wrong.
If you are stupid enough to believe every word he says, then stupid you be.
To get your knickers in a twist because of what he posts, and to stalk his every post . . . well you come off looking like an A class knob.
Let it go mate. This forum doesn't need an official rumour policeman.

Given the sheer amount of injuries we've had, the last 5 games there's been a positive change. If the club can assure Angus Madge will be around, plus, clearly there are players that do want to play under Madge.

No one's taking those contracts.
We'd be chipping in.

Bad business.

Best we can hope for is some one takes Brooks contract at 50-60% for his final year and we work to strengthen the roster by signing Angus. Some centres and some other backrowers and a prop.
No chipping in required Brooks and Douhie are both off contract 2024
Matt Burton is off contract 2024
850k Brooks 600k douhie leaves 1.4 million to sign Burton and another

Burton is a strange one for me - Even at the Panthers, He wasn't as good in the Halves as he was at centre...

Here is a kid that could play for his State - possibly his country at Centre and have a very good career there.... Or Struggle in the halves at all the other clubs.

He's got some choices to make....
Burton can play 6 at a good club or a 1
He is the marquee signing we need

Because ripping up the club and having another rebuild is a great option....Madge is attracting players good players tide will turn our way and this is how you build a powerhouse club
We have Sheens sitting above Maguire. I don't believe in any way it would be "ripping up the club and having another rebuild" by replacing him. A very good but less experienced coach is an option by having Sheens in place and would still allow the club to achieve powerhouse status.

In terms of cap space we were smart with our money making sure we have plenty of cash to spare

Players are coming for Madge and Sheens not Sheens and Trent Barrett

I don’t like Doueihi in the centres…slow laterally and defensively suspect.
Ive mentioned it before, but Brooks would make a good centre - especially if we employed and inside centre styled role play to his game. He would be licensed to kick, ball play and run. His defence is not an issue and he is quick off the mark.
This move is also not unprecedented with Shaun Berrigan succeeding there for the Broncs.
He has the ability to roam also.
When your stack one side you need a player to be quick off the mark to swing around which Brooks can.
Brooks can be used for left to right cross field bombs, AD the opposite, JH the middle.
It could work.

I think we all have to take note of how many good Quilty players want to play under Madge this was never going to be a simple rebuild it was always going to take time but we are starting to see what he is capable of I think he’s the man the lead this team forward and he deserves a chance with the roster he is building
If we win a few games that the Number of Players that want to play for Madge would dramatically go up.
