Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

You can use the old "We're into his 4th year" Excuse all you like....
His whole tenure, He's had key Roster positions and large portion of the Salary cap tied up in
overpaid - underperforming players that weren't signed on his watch...

It's the most overlooked Fact on this forum!!
Can someone tell me the collective on field value we received last year from the contracts of
Josh Reynolds, Russell Packer and Moses Mbye?

If you haven't seen the Boost in the way we've been playing of late?
- It's more effort in a team than I've seen in well over 10 years - I'd almost say 15.
A lot of the time you don't get the results you deserve... And that's been us.
We've troubled most of the sides we've played - At full strength, With our squad - We'd have done much better than anyone would've picked - Including us.

Most here would argue our 2 best players are Adam Doueihi and Jackson Hastings - Both signed by Madge and very big supporters of the coach.
The 2 biggest signings we've signed in more than 10 years come next year - Both signed by Madge, And have have history being coached by him.
That has to count for something....
I'm not super sold on Madge - I just don't think he's doing as bad a job as has ever been made out.
Realistically, There's only 3 Coaches in the NRL that I would have over him - And all 3 are no chance.

This downward spiral we've been in has been coming since the last couple years of Sheens, We started overpaying players that didn't perform, And paying overpaid players to play elsewhere at the same time.... For well over a decade.
We dug ourselves into this hole forever - It's going to take longer than 3 years to dig us out.
(Especially when your cap is half filled with poor signings)

Madge is a worker - And a winner.... And it's working - The culture at Wests Tigers of turning up our toes as soon as it gets hard has been in our DNA since we won the comp....
We've tried everything else, It hasn't worked - Surely you can see this working....

Not as quickly as we would like, But what he's doing is working....

This is the first fruits of the Rebuild that we needed not just as a roster, but as a Club.

We have been garbage for 15 years,

The attitude is here and now for the controlled upgrade in New players and the controlled Blooding of juniors coming through

Player power has been here for far too long....
It's taken Madge a while to bash it out of the club and get them to believe in something new.
The way we're playing is refreshing and positive...
Despite the scoreboard at times.

Even on the weekend, It's a top 4 team v a bottom 4 team...
We've already got plenty of injuries,
They're basically full strength
Then we get a few injuries in the game

- Out of all that, We're still WELL IN IT - For 50% or more of the match...
It's certainly not nothing, It's a very solid foundation that can be built from.

Madge has a track record of playing injured players eh...

Well see what teams named and what takes the field Friday.

Hopefully the right decision is made.

I doubt AD plays Friday tho.
Yeah. Could be a bit of a smokescreen. We have so many injured players but I don't think he will risk him unless fully fit.

Three years of poor results, a fourth with 2 wins to date That is not an overwhelming argument for retention no matter how you spin it. The bar is not set high.

As for our best acquisition, Utoikamanu imo is by far the best buy and up until injured, Daine Laurie was performing very well at the back for such an inexperienced player.

Uto been quiet this year.

So POM not only indicated that we are progressed in talks with Angus Chrighton, but he also included the amount we have allegedly offered to lure him.

Chris on the other hand indicates we have not approached him at all.

Who did we accidently send our $2.2mill offer to....Matt Dufty?

I’m guessing dogs were building to a win and chooks were at 6s & 7s. Gould seized the opportunity to support his view to the board. He’s got a replacement in mind, probably Flanno?
Ciraldo was mentioned on one channel. Green and Flannagan this morning on 9.

I'm not arguing he needs to be retained... Nor trying to "Spin" wins and loses.
Just that the results he has, With the squad he has - And the amount of non productive players he's had to deal with in his tenure aren't as bad as all and sundry make them out to be....

If anything, He's over achieving by having us in any games at all... It's not like anyone else is giving us a chance (At all)
There's better teams at full strength, playing poorly - With poor results.

I didn't even factor Stefano into his aquisitions - Also speaks convincingly of the coach.

Wonder how many plays signed to the Dogs to play under Trent?
always dangerous to play a team just after they sacked to coach.
didn’t the Dog win when Gould report-ably took over their training session.

It would be someone who is ready to move now. Gould won’t stand in as coach, that trick is done and dusted. 😂

Gould admitted his preference was to appoint a caretaker coach for the rest of the year before bringing in an experienced coach to lead the club from 2023.

OK, his WT win record is about 36%. Compare that with Nathan Brown’s Knights, Warriors win rate of 28%

Matt Duffy will probably have a blinder this week.

Of course the club could now be leaking info saying we have no interest in Angus C to get the media off the trail. One thing for sure it’s never over till the fat lady sings. So till Pascoe sends out a press release, it’s all hear say

A lot of variations but look at the wording -

1. We had a chat to Chrichton
2. We had a chat to Chrichton and made an offer to his manager
3. We had a chat to Chricthon, made an offer to his manager but the Roosters offered more $, new porcelains and a Potts Point penthouse Jacuzzi apartment near Dulcies.
