Read some of the posters' contributions on this website and look at the names who wanted to throw a lot of cash at him. He is very average in that team.

That try saver on Dufty was a great effort. Showed real speed.not spectacular but in truth its day 3 in the squad.
Saved a certain dufty break away try.
He's a big guy in the centers so Im glad he's here
Just watched the highlights again the club needs to do everything in its power to keep Jackson Hastings at this club he is in every thing if you play brooks madden or doughi outside of Hastings they all look 10 times better but a combination of them 3 without Hastings gives me very little confidence I’m super excited to see what a Hastings doughi combinations looks like with Laurie out the back for the first time in a long time this club is actually starting to get some Good depth
Can you please the figure he is on with a link?If the Knights are genuinely still interested in Brooks, we'd be absolutely nuts not to let him go.
Yes, he's performed better recently, especially with Hastings in the 7. But it doesn't really override years of average at best play and significant spells which were simply not first grade standard. He is what he is at this point - a player who probably belongs in the 14 and will try his best, but doesn't really have many strings on his bow as a full-time half.
He's also on a ridiculous deal for a player of his quality. Whatever it is next year, whether it's $850k or as high as $1.1m, it's way too much.
So putting the debate as to whether he's better than Madden or Doueihi aside, even if he does present some upgrade on them, it's not a big one and certainly not enough to justify any substantial amount of money.
If the Knights want to pay half of his salary (say $500k), that's the difference between a rep level player and a fringe first grader/reserve grader in most positions. Isn't Papali'i signed on 600k a year? Just shows what we're potentially missing out on. I'll take an edge of Doueihi/Madden and Crichton over Brooks and Seyfarth.
Na…. He’s very average!!Read some of the posters' contributions on this website and look at the names who wanted to throw a lot of cash at him. He is very average in that team.
Think I saw him communicating with the fullback to where he was headed also which helped….That was pretty impressive pace to chase down Dufty with ease

The media provides these figures with no comment from the club as these matters are confidential. Secondly, there are suggestions his contract was back dated so context is important when quoting figures. But we know we cannot rely on the media to be accurate as there is not confirmation from the club.Revealed: Tigers’ $1.1m Brooks anchor as club responds to rumours of father-son swap deal

Many different numbers quoted in the media. We won't know the exact number, but I think it's fair to say it falls somewhere in the 800k-1.1 mil range (more likely on the lower end).
I think you ment to say “I’ll eat my bat”.Na…. He’s very average!!
If he’s a 400k middle in any team, I’ll eat my hat. 800k is outrageous!!
Yeah - Luke Kearys wages are 850 or 1.3 - depending on weather the story says he’s staying or goingThe media provides these figures with no comment from the club as these matters are confidential. If they want Luke Brooks, they should be paying more of his contract than $500k.If the Knights are genuinely still interested in Brooks, we'd be absolutely nuts not to let him go.

He'd have a point to prove too. Got a few indigenous boys in the squad plus Badger is still involved so there's a good support circle starting to form. Might curry favour with other talented indigenous lads. That try saver on Dufty was a great effort. Showed real speed.
I was strongly against the signing of Naden, but after listening to a few things Madge said, it seems like he has identified that Naden is a specialist left centre, but loses his way on the right.
So I'm more open minded now. First game he didn't make any bad reads in defence, that's all a good start.
Agreed. Brooks has looked better moving to the six but he's not worth the big money to justify playing "well" as opposed to what you'd expect from a player earning marquee money. If the Knights are genuinely still interested in Brooks, we'd be absolutely nuts not to let him go.

agree, start of the season I wouldn't have mind - but he's been massive this year.Losing garner hurts.
To the top team. Cleary sees it, we apparently don't value it as much.Losing garner hurts.
