Souths realised that they just needed to roll up the middle and then go left (our right). They executed it very well and in my opinion found To'a out.
I was at the game and watched Hastings closely, I think his ankle was probably needled. In the first half he ran a lot more. Several times, when the ball was being played, he would run behind the ruck from the right to the left and give early ball to Brooks and Naden and we made ground. In the second half, he wasn't running as much (I suspect it was the injury ) and that impacted our go forward as we were very predictable and were picked off.
