A team with Moses Mbye, Aaron Woods, Moses Suli, Andrew McCullough and Billy Burns have won double the amount of games than us. I don't want to hear about oUr roster anymore haha.. Griffin is a footy technician, our guy can't get even get his bench/selections right cmon...
Kaito, mate . . . please let us know what you really think about Madge.
Do you think he should stay or go ?
I don't think you have made your position clear enough.
Tell us one more time, just to be sure.
And then tell us what Peptide flanno could have possibly done to change the end result of our last game ?

Injected them with some stimulation at half time.

Maguire and Hastings may have developed a close relationship. Hastings may also have a close relationship with Sheens. Hastings still has at least another season at WTs so he won't be departing in the short term. Speculation about where Hastings will end up is just that and should not be a consideration in moving Maguire on.

Nope - But it will be a factor in players no matter what you think.

Also think Maguire being able to stick out the job that no other coach could for 4 years - And actually pulling off decent signings (Which no other coach could do in 12 years) should be a consideration in moving him on.

Better than Madge.
Give him a go. Can't hurt

He's done nothing at 3 clubs he's been moved on from (in the last 1o years)
- Including ours

Lets get a guy that can't even keep a job as an assistant coach at 3 clubs, And done nothing for years - And make him head coach at a struggling club.
GREAT IDEA

Mate, with due respect it's too early for the back and forth. I've laid out what I think and how I've come to those conclusions in the last 5 or so pages.. I understand the dislike for flanno, everyone is looking for answers.. Let's see what happens in the next coming weeks...

I think a mid season change is necessary. Its pretty obvious that Madge's style doesn't fit this side. He expects his players to all be Cam Murrays and play flat out for 80 mins. His use of the bench seems to prove that he seems to think these players are capable of it. We have too many novices to expect that to happen. Personally i would put Ben Gardiner in charge for the rest of the year. He is obviously the attacking coach and although we haven't scored a mountain of points our attack is looking a lot more composed and fluent. He coached the Magpies last year and they led the comp in attack. He brought through a lot of the younger guys last year so it would appear he has a good rapport with them. Maybe promote With Sheens as a mentor i think he could make the step up. Cayless to stay on as defence coach. Apart from a couple of poor performances our defensive structures have improved. So if these 2 guys have improved the side how come we are sitting 15th. The answer to that is we just dont have a roster capable of getting much higher than 12th and even that may be a stretch. I'd give the other assistant coaching job to "Noddy" Kimmorley.

Gardiner is Madges boy.
I think if Madge leaves so does Gardiner.

The club won't appoint Gardner as care taker.

Just my thoughts tho.

He may not like getting a chance by moving Madge on but if he has any aspirations towards head coach anywhere you would think he would jump at it.

offer Madge the rest of the season but with targets , if he misses then he walks , or dump him. Now pay him out and grab another coach , there is no other real options , Madge probably would be in a way better spot if injuries didn’t cruel us but all clubs get them , 4 years 4 backward steps , the board needs to have a hard look this week , even by Friday and make the call , retention and purchase leave to the next coach as he may have some sway , nobody knows for sure but it would not hurt

The coaching merry go round wont work if the squad lacks talent and it certainly won't attract players to this club.
Even the great Wayne Bennett and a truckload of money is struggling to get the players he has targeted apart from those at the backend of careers - why because the best players want to play with the best.
Sacking Maguire for a squad that is not rated and is placed exactly where most expected is possibly the most backward step we could take especially if the nucleus of the decent players we have back him - and all indications apart from Nofa suggest that they do.

For some perspective, this was one terrible half of football in what has been a pretty decent last 6/7 weeks, especially considering the injury circumstances.

We were due a lapse and if the forwards aim up, which they're more than capable of doing from what we've seen over the last 2 months, that entire game goes differently.

The line in the sand/halfway pass mark talk has blown things up and brought it to a head. This is a stupid public statement by the club in light of the situation.

You simply do not remove a coach when you've got 5 months until Nov 1 and you're looking at extending Laurie, Doueihi, Hastings and to a lesser extent, even Brooks, particularly in a players' market.

Once you sign the players you don't want touched, then you can move on the coach if needs be. But there are more variables to this than simply 'I've had enough'.

Timing, recruitment and retention implications, player morale, reputation, fan backlash, etc. are all considerations when this type of decision is being discussed.
