You make a few points in there that I agree with and a few that I don't disagree with.

Above all, my point was not to retain the coach, it was to give due consideration to all the compounding factors around what such a decision could lead to. This is not a simple decision, no matter how much anybody wants it be or feels it is.

I get your argument, I do. I just disagree with many of the ways you've interpreted how we're going that have lead you to your conclusion. That's not to say they're wrong, moreso that I view them a from a different perspective. Happy to go through some of those disagreements if needs be, but don't have the chance atm.

To your point of giving a new coach a run and that it's time for that, it may well be, it's a fair point, but then you enter into; who's available? why would they improve the situation? who's willing to even take the position? what other ramifications would that have?

Like all these things, I'm torn myself. Part of me feels a new coach would be a welcome change and another part of me feels as though there's merit to seeing Madge through.

And that's why this isn't a simple decision.
Problems havent changed since the day before Madge arrived. Front office is not qualified to run a professional sporting team.

He's done nothing at 3 clubs he's been moved on from (in the last 1o years)
- Including ours

Lets get a guy that can't even keep a job as an assistant coach at 3 clubs, And done nothing for years - And make him head coach at a struggling club.
GREAT IDEA

#Deerinheadlights
The “can’t hurt” approach is desperate and rarely works.

Which problems?

I know the front office is spoken about as a problem, and I'm not a fan of Pascoe et al specifically, but, what in particular makes you say they're not qualified to run a sporting team? This is not me defending them, but rather interested in how you quantify that.

I was thinking co-coaches but I am sure Madge wouldn't wear that. however if the club put that to him he would have to accept it or hand in his resignation.

You don't - You just state your opinions as facts.

That's what most people who make those type of statements do...
They're generally unfounded and they have nothing to back them up.

Like all those that think a guy that's never coached a first class match will do a better job than the guy that's been doing it for 10 years...
It would actually be comical if they didn't whole heartedly believe it from the very base of their soul.

Ah, I thought that was aimed at me.

Yeh, I think we're a bit quick to throw the subjective into objective. It's easy when things are going average though.

Observational evidence.

This club is honestly like an insane asylum, the same shit gets repeated over and over and no one learns. No coach would want to come here, we have a piss weak squad that would struggle in KOE cup, bar about three players. Our board is a joke, our juniors are at least four years away and by then will be looking elsewhere once they have seen more coaches than training drills. You are delusional if you think any young decent coach wants a gig here, our only options are washed up has beens who no one else would touch with a barge pole.

Which is why I think we should stick with the one we have...
He cares for the job, Want's the job and is about the best there is getting around available to us.

I honestly can't believe he still wants to be here, he would get a gig at the Dogs, Warriors in a heartbeat and leave this nut house.

Signing James Roberts etc etc

Look up ‘professional’
Right, so signing a former representative player to a minimum wage deal in a position we're weak in isn't 'professional' in your opinion?

Is this your example of front office not being qualified? Because that type of decision is not isolated to the front office, the coaching and recruitment departments play a big part of something like that.

You can disagree with a recruitment decision the club has made, but that has less than zero impact on the qualifications of the executives of the club.

Is this the extent of your 'observational evidence'?

I read through every ones comments and find myself further from an answer there is no easy answer to this problem

The fact that if Madge was sacked bulldogs would probably pick him up strait away is probably a sign we should keep him there is not a better coach out there at the moment

I woukd love to hear Tim sheens honest opinion of the what’s wrong with the club
