Like I said needs to improve things. Hard when the frontline is retreating backwards every play on the line.

So? Hastings has been good but we can't determine a coach by a player.s preference. Been happening too much at this club where players are in control and not accountable for their own performances.

We are 3/9. Any player on this team should be embarrassed to think they can blackmail the hierarchy to get thier own way.
 
Not sure what my thoughts are on Ciraldo... not sure what input he has had in the panthers juggernaut... Everyone was crediting Barret for their attack and when push come to shove he did a nothing.
Like others have said coaching the Panthers would be an easy in comparison to coaching the tigers.
The last thing i wont the club to go through is another 5 year rebuild. But i am not sure we have any other choice.
Is Madge the answer? One of the biggest gripes against him is the management of the bench. It seems to let us down constantly surely one of his assistants can see it.
 
He usually does mate, calling me a baby when I misquoted something he’d said.

I don't see how changing a coach is going to help us, especially if we recycle one who has already failed at NRL level. Unless the next big thing, such as Cameron Ciraldo, is willing to come here, then there's no point getting a new coach.

I agree more with this but think it's essentially the roster.
Don't think it's Madge alone but rather the biggest factor, which is the expectations that come with being associated with the Wests Tigers and turning them around.

I can't stand his interchange use, just frustates me to no end however if I'm honest, this is what is expected in a professional capacity if you are trying to fulfill your duty of coaching a team to perform consistently well, under fatigue and the pressures of the NRL.
We wanted raised standards and won't accept underperforming yet there's obviously a number of players who are out of their depth. Unable to withstand NRL level speed and other competition requirements such as basic skills execution. Improve the roster and it helps improve the team consistency.

Said it before, providing an environment for players to master and enhance the fundamental skills of the game is where we were lacking.
We've made huge changes in this area and if we can gain other recruits of a better calibre, we're on the right track with filling the roster with players essential to elevating the team to perform consistently in the more challenging and more demanding pressure situations of the current game - that we still seemingly fold quite easily under.
The game's now high intensity and we should be recruiting and retaining players best suited to it. The speedsters, mobile forwards etc.,

20 minutes in against south's. 12-0. Coach is safe and he is a legend getting buy in.
40 minutes in and they are 18-12. Coach still safe.
80 minutes in and coach sacked next week.

It's such a weak way to attack the coach. And the plans of some people on here must be a pisstake for sure.
 
Madge 2022 thread should not exist as he should have finished along with his contract back in 2021.

WT have only gone further backwards since the ridiculous decision to extend his tenure was made with another year left to run on it.

Wrote again of removing him on here in the similar bye period last year and hope the club doesn’t waste another half season before making the change.

So where do you rate the current squad and where on the table do you think they should be - just out of interest?

Truth is your 100% right.

The only problem is this club only ever done well during 2004 to 2011 when they built on loyalty even though it led to imbalances in the squad.

The management tried to continue this in 2012 by giving Sheens the job he has now but Sheens ego got in the way and in the process we shafted Potter, lost Payten and everything unraveled. Think management is trying to rebuild the loyalty aspect which is good. Trouble is it's taking too long.

Do you think maybe if we take a hard nosed but correct approach now it may set us back years again? The question is have we turned any corner but being held back by injury or has this course failed?

it get's to the point, I think some of them must work for Fox.
